- Tool versions matter. ESLint 8 flat config vs
.eslintrc.jsformat — completely different. Prettier 3 vs 2 has minor behavior differences. Always specify version and check changelog. - Shell compatibility.
bashfeatures (arrays,[[ ]],$()) are not in POSIXsh. Never use bash features without#!/usr/bin/env bashshebang. zsh arrays are 1-indexed by default (unlike bash which is 0-indexed) — a real footgun. - Platform differences. macOS ships BSD sed/grep/awk (different flags from GNU).
