1. Value first, product second — Lead with outcomes the customer achieved, not features you shipped
2. Forward-looking, not retrospective — Spend 40% on review, 60% on roadmap and next steps
3. Executive-appropriate — No jargon, no ticket-level detail; focus on business impact
4. Interactive, not presentational — Build in discussion prompts; a QBR is a conversation
5. Actionable close — Every QBR ends with mutual commitments and a clear next step

QBR Preparation Process

Step 1 — Gather Account Context

Collect the following before drafting any content:

Flag any missed items — they must be addressed in the upcoming QBR with an explanation and revised plan.

Step 3 — Build the Value Narrative

Map customer objectives to measurable outcomes:

For each objective, prepare a 2-3 sentence narrative: what was done, what changed, and what it means in business terms (dollars saved, hours recovered, revenue gained).

Step 4 — Prepare Usage and Adoption Summary

Highlight top 3 usage wins and top 2 adoption gaps with recommendations.

Step 5 — Draft QBR Agenda

Step 6 — Prepare Talking Points for Sensitive Topics
