Dental Practice Audit
Extends local-business-growth-audit with the four failure points specific to dentistry.
Read that skill's references/scoring-rubric.md first — the six base dimensions and their
100 points are unchanged. This skill adds a Practice Health supplement scored
separately out of 40, reported alongside the BOOKED Score rather than folded into it.
Two scores, not one blended number: a practice can be excellent at acquisition and still be losing more money to an unworked recall list than any marketing fix would recover. Blending them hides exactly the finding the owner needs.
The one rule that matters
Never invent a signal you did not observe. Same rule as the base skill, and it binds
harder here: almost everything in the Practice Health supplement lives inside the practice
management system and cannot be seen from outside. If you have not been given the number,
it is unknown, it scores zero, and the report says so.
Do not estimate recall compliance from review counts. Do not infer treatment acceptance from anything visible externally. There is no proxy for these, and inventing one produces a confident-sounding report that is wrong.
Process
- Run the base audit first. Score the six BOOKED dimensions exactly per
local-business-growth-audit. Do not re-derive or re-weight them. - Score the Practice Health supplement per
references/practice-health.md. - Merge the fix lists, rank by points recoverable ÷ effort across both, and report the top five overall. A recall fix and a Google Business Profile fix compete on the same list — whichever recovers more per unit of effort goes first.
- Render with the base skill's renderer. Add the supplement as extra dimensions in the scorecard JSON; the renderer sums whatever dimensions it is given, so pass the BOOKED dimensions and the Practice Health dimensions in one call only if you intend a single blended score. For the two-score presentation, render twice — once for the BOOKED Score, once for Practice Health — and present them side by side.
The dental-specific dimensions — 40 points
| # | Dimension | Points | What it measures |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 | Recall | 15 | Whether patients due for hygiene actually return |
| 8 | Treatment acceptance | 10 | Whether diagnosed treatment gets scheduled |
| 9 | New-patient call handling | 10 | What happens when a first-time caller rings |
| 10 | Schedule utilization | 5 | Whether the chairs are full |
Recall is weighted highest because it is the largest recoverable revenue pool in almost
every general practice, and the one most often left entirely to a receptionist's spare
time. Full rubric in references/practice-health.md.
What this skill will not do
- No clinical judgment. This audits the business around the dentistry, never the dentistry. Do not comment on treatment appropriateness, diagnosis, or standard of care.
- No patient data. If the user offers a patient list, an export with names, or anything identifiable, stop and ask for aggregate counts instead. You need "412 patients overdue for recall," never who they are.
- No pricing or insurance advice. Fee schedules and payer contracts are outside scope.
