Finding Your Unknowns

Use at the start of a non-trivial agentic coding task, or when a long-horizon task keeps coming back wrong. Surfaces the gaps between what you told the agent (the "map") and where the work actually happens (the "territory") — your unknowns — before, during, and after implementation. Runs a blind-spot pass, brainstorm/prototype, interview, references, and an implementation plan up front; keeps an implementation-notes log during; and builds a pitch + self-quiz after. Method by Thariq Shihipar (Anthropic), from the field guide "Finding your unknowns".
