Model
Build the financial model for "$ARGUMENTS". Create an integrated model with scenario analysis, valuation, and sensitivity testing to support decision-making and fundraising.
Prerequisites
Read .metapowers/finance/$ARGUMENTS/04-budget.md. If this file does not exist, tell the user:
Phase 4 (Budget) has not been completed for "$ARGUMENTS". Run
/finance:budget $ARGUMENTSfirst, or use--skip-checksto bypass.
If --skip-checks is present in $ARGUMENTS, skip this check and log to .metapowers/finance/$ARGUMENTS/skip-log.md.
Process
Read context:
- Read
.metapowers/finance/$ARGUMENTS/01-assess.mdthrough04-budget.mdfor complete financial picture - Reference
financial-model-template.mdfor scenario table structure
- Read
Build integrated P&L model:
- Revenue model with driver-based projections
- COGS and gross profit
- Operating expenses by category
- EBITDA and net income
- Project 3-5 years with monthly detail for year 1
Build scenario models:
- Base case: aligned with the forecast and budget
- Best case: upside assumptions (faster growth, better margins)
- Worst case: downside assumptions (slower growth, higher costs, churn)
- For each scenario: revenue, expenses, cash flow, runway, break-even
- Reference
financial-model-template.mdfor scenario table format
Valuation analysis (if applicable):
- Revenue multiples (based on comparable companies)
- DCF analysis with WACC assumptions
- Last-round valuation and implied metrics
- Cap table impact of future fundraising scenarios
Sensitivity analysis:
- Identify the 5-8 variables with the most impact
- Show how changes in each variable affect key outputs
- Create tornado chart data (which inputs swing outcomes most)
Write the artifact to
.metapowers/finance/$ARGUMENTS/05-model.mdwith sections:- Integrated P&L — multi-year income statement
- Scenario Analysis — best/base/worst case summaries
- Valuation — multiples, DCF, and comparable analysis
- Sensitivity Matrix — variable impact on key metrics
- Model Assumptions Log — every input and its source/rationale
Output
The model written to .metapowers/finance/$ARGUMENTS/05-model.md. Present a summary highlighting:
- Base case P&L trajectory
- Scenario range (worst to best)
- Valuation range
- Most sensitive variables
