Social Video Copy Kit
Turn one finished video into every piece of distribution copy, in a single .md file that lives next to the video. Copy only — this skill never posts, schedules, or uploads anything.
Workflow
- Locate the final video (the delivered cut, not a render or raw footage). Get its runtime with ffprobe — chapters and captions must fit the real cut. Save the copy kit in this same folder.
- Extract facts from the source of truth, never from memory. Priority: caption/subtitle files → a narration/script file → otherwise transcribe the final video. Pull the subject name, real numbers, specific findings, anything shown on camera, and the human moment. Never invent a number or detail that isn't in the footage.
- Write the blocks into one file:
- LinkedIn (personal) — first line bold hook, short paragraphs, story-driven, hashtags on the last line.
- Instagram / Facebook (brand feed) — warm, celebratory, emoji-forward, bold the key number, end with a question CTA.
- Short Reel caption
- Reel / TikTok version — on-screen hook line for the first 2 seconds + caption.
- YouTube upload kit (see checklist).
- Header block at top: filename, runtime, generation date, one-line facts list.
- Save as
<VideoBaseName>_Social_Copy.md in the video's folder, then reveal it in the file manager.
- Paste the copy in chat too so the user can grab it without opening the file.
Voice rules
- No em dashes anywhere. Use periods, commas, colons, or parentheses.
- Lead with the most concrete number or surprise in the footage — numbers are the hook.
- Match each platform's register; the first IG/FB sentence must work standing alone above the "…more" fold.
YouTube kit checklist
Include ALL of: 3 title options · full description (hook, what happens, links, CHAPTERS, hashtags) · comma-separated tags block · category · playlist · visibility note · "Not made for kids" · thumbnail concept (3 words max + the big number) · end-screen note · pinned-comment CTA. Chapters come from real caption timestamps, converted to m:ss, ending before the actual runtime.
Boundaries
Copy only. Never post, schedule, upload, or deploy. If facts are thin (no captions, no transcript), say so and ask for the 2-3 key facts instead of inventing them.
