Brand Identity
Procedure
- Inspect the brand strategy/brief and existing logo or mark. Do not invent positioning that conflicts with supplied business facts.
- Define the identity thesis: the repeated visual behavior that makes the brand recognizable beyond the logo.
- Build a role-based color system: primary, secondary, neutral, functional, background, and print considerations where relevant.
- Define typography by role and language: display, heading, body, data/numbers, captions, bilingual behavior, and fallback strategy. Flag unknown licensing.
- Define layout/grid, spacing rhythm, shape/line language, image treatment, icon/illustration style, and recurring graphic devices.
- Show how the system changes across at least three materially different applications rather than repeating the same mockup composition.
- Document rules and intentional exceptions. Keep enough flexibility for future content.
- Review consistency and distinctiveness with
visual-review.
Deliverables
Identity thesis, core visual system, application rules, example applications/specs, asset gaps, and production notes.
Failure conditions
A color palette plus a logo is not a complete VI system. Do not specify commercial fonts or stock assets as cleared unless licensing is known.
