Create Specification

Your goal is to create a new specification file for ${input:SpecPurpose}.

The specification file must define the requirements, constraints, and interfaces for the solution components in a manner that is clear, unambiguous, and structured for effective use by Generative AIs. Follow established documentation standards and ensure the content is machine-readable and self-contained.

Best Practices for AI-Ready Specifications

• Use precise, explicit, and unambiguous language.
• Clearly distinguish between requirements, constraints, and recommendations.
• Use structured formatting (headings, lists, tables) for easy parsing.
• Avoid idioms, metaphors, or context-dependent references.
• Define all acronyms and domain-specific terms.
• Include examples and edge cases where applicable.
• Ensure the document is self-contained and does not rely on external context.

Closed & Self-Contained (for cold /goal execution)

This spec will be executed cold by a zero-context agent via the /goal command. It MUST be self-contained in two distinct senses, or that agent will make at least one wrong integration decision:

• The whats: requirements, acceptance criteria (Given-When-Then), and data contracts — field by field, measurable and testable.
• The integration hows: every decision that is implicit in the originating conversation or that relies on repo conventions made explicit. If a cold agent would have to guess how to wire a component, where to place a file, how concurrency is handled, or which existing code to extend, that belongs here. Concretely:
  • Concrete file:line anchors for every integration point (injection sites, choke points, existing types to extend, route registration locations).
  • Non-obvious domain constraints made explicit: ordering invariants, lifecycle (create / use / release), state-machine rules, concurrency constraints — whatever a cold agent could not infer from the code alone.
  • The exact wiring shape: which constructor receives which dependency, where the new component is instantiated, and which existing call sites change.

A spec that covers only the whats is NOT closed. Do not stop until every implicit integration decision is written down.

The specification should be saved in the /spec/ directory and named according to the following convention: spec-[a-z0-9-]+\.md, where the name should be descriptive of the specification's content and starting with the highlevel purpose, which is one of [schema, tool, data, infrastructure, process, architecture, or design].

The specification file must be formatted in well formed Markdown.

Every spec MUST end with a managed ## Design Gaps section, scaffolded empty as shown in the template below. This section is consumed and written exclusively by the close-design skill; never author entries by hand. Its presence is mandatory even when no gaps are known yet.

Specification files must follow the template below, ensuring that all sections are filled out appropriately. The front matter for the markdown should be structured correctly as per the example following:
