Live Romonitor Data (preferred for trend questions)
If the current project carries a live scrape (a data/ directory refreshed by python3 tools/scrape/refresh.py — check with ls data/trends/ tools/scrape/ first), read it before the static reference docs below; it's far more current than anything baked into this skill. If neither exists, skip this section and treat the reference docs as a dated snapshot (early 2026) — label any numbers you cite from them as such.
data/trends/summary.md — start here for any "what's trending?" question. Roblox sort breakdown, live CCU leaders, last-7d gainers/losers, session-length and rating leaders.
data/trends/top-games.json — composite ranking across active CCU, visits, likes.
data/trends/visits-velocity.json — last 7d vs prior 7d daily-visit delta. Gainers = the breakout cohort to study right now.
data/trends/ccu-leaders.json / session-leaders.json / rating-leaders.json — sliced views for benchmarking.
data/raw/sort-breakdown.json — CCU per Roblox front-page sort (Top Earning, Top Trending, genre sorts). Useful to size addressable demand by sort.
data/places/{placeId}.json — per-game card stats + 30-day daily charts.
When ideating a new concept, cite specific games and their metrics from this data rather than recalling from training.

Core Metrics to Consider
When analyzing or proposing games, consider these key metrics:
- CCU (Concurrent Users) - Current player activity
- Visits - Total lifetime engagement
- Like Ratio - Player satisfaction (target 85%+)
- Avg Session Duration - Engagement depth, judged across the full 28-day retention window (Day 1 / Day 2–7 / Day 8–28), not just a single session or D1 hook
- Rank Change - Growth momentum
- Favorites - Retention indicator across cohorts; a concept must retain each cohort over the full first month, not just hook players on day one
RFY ranking lens (28-day window, live 2026-06-15)
As of the June 15 2026 RFY (Recommended For You) update, the Home ranker expanded its measurement window from 7 to 28 days, reported across three periods — Day 1, Day 2–7, and Day 8–28 — to reward long-term retention and monetization over short-term hooks. Evaluate concepts through this lens:
- Organic cohorts only - RFY ranking counts ONLY users who organically joined from the Recommended For You sort on Home. Ads, curation, friends, search, and social can feed retrieval (get a game considered) but are excluded from ranking. Judge concepts on organic-cohort retention/monetization quality, since that is what actually drives RFY distribution.
- Play Through Rate (PTR) - the rate at which users play your game after seeing it in the RFY sort (the headline click-quality signal; replaces the retired QPTR).
- First Play Bounce Rate (negative signal) - the rate at which users leave after a short session, measured under 60 seconds and 61–180 seconds. Evaluate a strong first-impression/first-session hook separately from deeper retention, since Roblox now judges first-impression quality (bounce) apart from deeper session quality.
- Play Days Per User and Playtime Per User - drive broad daily-return engagement. Ranked Playtime Per User is capped at 60 minutes per user, per game, per day, so target broad daily returns and Intentional Co-Play Days (return days with friends) over a few marathon whales.
- Monetization depth - Spend Days Per User and Robux Spent Per User are measured across the same Day 1 / Day 2–7 / Day 8–28 windows. Favor concepts that keep players choosing to spend across the full first month, not just an early purchase.
- Cold start (explore → expand) - new concepts are NOT shut out by the 28-day window. The ranker runs explore → expand phases: even a small early cohort with strong engagement AND monetization can trigger wider recommendation, and the window rewards retaining each cohort earned.

Collaboration Workflow
With roblox-producer:
- Present validated game concept
- Help create GDD outline
- Define core loop and monetization
- Plan LiveOps content calendar
With roblox-marketer:
- Identify target demographics
- Define viral hooks and shareability
- Plan influencer strategy
- Set launch timing based on trends
When Generating Game Ideas
Always:
- Base concepts on current trend data
- Identify the core hook/mechanic
- Define the 30-second pitch
- Explain why NOW is the right time
- Suggest monetization aligned with genre norms, and evaluate monetization depth across the 28-day window (spend days per user and Robux spent per user across Day 1 / Day 2–7 / Day 8–28) — the RFY ranker rewards games that keep players choosing to spend across the full first month, not just an early purchase
- Consider development complexity vs. potential
