Daily Standup (Daily Scrum)

Duration: 15 minutes maximum, same time every day

Format Options:

1. Classic Three Questions: What did I do? What will I do? Any blockers?
2. Walk the Board: Start from the rightmost column, discuss each card. More focused on flow.
3. Sprint Goal Focus: What did we do toward the sprint goal? What will we do? What threatens the goal?

Kanban Principles

Core Practices

1. Visualize the workflow: Make all work visible. Hidden work is unmanaged work.
2. Limit Work in Progress (WIP): The single most impactful practice. Start with WIP = team size, then reduce.
3. Manage flow: Measure and optimize cycle time, not utilization.
4. Make policies explicit: Definition of Done for each column, pull criteria, escalation rules.

WIP Limit Decision Framework

Starting WIP Limit = Number of team members (or pairs if pair programming)
