Lazy Consensus Model

## How Lazy Consensus Works

1. A proposal is made (issue, PR, discussion, or RFC)
2. A waiting period is announced (length depends on impact)
3. Silence = agreement
4. Anyone can object during the waiting period
5. Objections must include reasoning and alternatives
6. If no objections after the waiting period, the proposal passes

## Waiting Periods

- Minor changes: 48 hours
- Standard changes: 1 week
- Significant changes: 2 weeks
- Strategic changes: 4 weeks

## Escalation When Objections Arise

1. Proposer and objector discuss and try to find consensus
2. If no agreement, broader team discusses
3. If still no agreement, formal vote among maintainers
4. Supermajority (2/3) required for contested decisions
5. Lead maintainer breaks ties as last resort
