How Property Tax Is Calculated

Property Tax = Assessed Value x Assessment Ratio x Tax Rate (Mill Rate)

Example:
  Market Value (per assessor): $300,000
  Assessment Ratio: 100% (varies by state, some use 80%, 33%, etc.)

Finding Comparable Properties

Comparable Selection Criteria

Two Types of Comparable Arguments
