Recipe Development

Core Workflow

  1. Define the dish goal, audience, yield, constraints, equipment, and service assumptions.
  2. Choose ingredient roles and cooking techniques that support the target result.
  3. Write ingredients with quantities, preparation state, and useful grouping.
  4. Write method steps in operational sequence with heat, timing, and observable cues.
  5. Include critical failure points, testing notes, and adjustment paths.
  6. Add safety notes when ingredients, storage, holding, reheating, or preservation require them.

Recipe Quality Bar

A good ChefSkills recipe is usable in a kitchen. It should tell the cook what to do, when to stop, what to look for, and what can go wrong.
