Title Generator
Free gateway skill from the Songwriting Partner bundle by GarphenGate.
Twenty titles that suggest a song, not a label: each one implies a story, a speaker, or a tension.
Procedure
- Take the seed: a topic, a lyric fragment, a mood, or one sentence about the situation the song comes from.
- Extract the tension. Name the push-pull inside the seed (wants to leave / can't; over it / still checking their page). Titles come from tension, not topic.
- Generate twenty titles across five angles, four each: IMAGE (a concrete thing carrying the feeling), SPEECH (something the speaker would actually say), TWIST (a familiar phrase turned), PLACE/TIME (a where or when that implies the story), ADDRESS (spoken to someone).
- Kill the labels. Delete any title that merely names the topic and regenerate it; a title guessable from the topic is a label, not a title.
- Mark the three with the most song behind them and state in one line what each implied song is about, so the writer can hear the difference.
Output
SEED: <one line> / TENSION: <push vs pull>
IMAGE: 1-4
SPEECH: 5-8
TWIST: 9-12
PLACE/TIME: 13-16
ADDRESS: 17-20
STRONGEST: #<n> — <the song it implies> (three picks)
Rules
- Never deliver a title that is just the topic word; if it could caption a stock photo, it dies.
- Never reuse a well-known song title from the seed's genre without flagging the collision.
- All twenty ship every time; the writer culls, the generator does not pre-shrink the list.
Degradation
With no seed at all, ask for one true detail from the writer's week and build the twenty from that. If the writer wants album or EP titles instead, say the angles shift and ask for the track list first.
