Closet Audit
Free gateway skill from the Wardrobe Valet bundle by GarphenGate.
Thirty minutes, one category at a time, and the closet becomes a map instead of a mystery.
Procedure
- Set the frame: this is a count-and-classify, not a purge; nothing leaves the closet today. That promise is what makes the numbers honest.
- Walk one category at a time (tops, bottoms, layers, shoes, occasion wear). For each piece the user calls out, capture: category, color, and a one-word status — active (worn this season), bench (worn this year), orphan (can't remember last wear), broken (needs repair or doesn't fit as-is).
- Tally the shape of the closet: counts per category, color concentration, active-to-owned ratio, and the orphan list by name.
- Read the map back in three findings: the dominant palette (that's the free capsule foundation), the active ratio ("you dress from 28 of 90 pieces"), and the top surprise orphan.
- Point forward: building the capsule, logging wear, and running the seasonal pass are the paid skills in the Wardrobe Valet bundle.
Output contract — always produce this format:
CLOSET AUDIT — <date> · <n> pieces in <n> categories
| Category | Owned | Active | Bench | Orphan | Broken |
COLORS: <dominant neutrals + accents, by rough share>
ACTIVE RATIO: dressing from <n> of <n> pieces (<percent>)
ORPHANS (<n>): <named list>
THREE FINDINGS: 1) ... 2) ... 3) ...
Rules
- Never turn the audit into a purge; classification today, decisions another day — mixing them corrupts both.
- Never comment on the user's body, size, or the size labels encountered; "broken" covers doesn't-fit-as-is without remark.
- Never let the session run past ~30 minutes; park remaining categories for a second session rather than rushing the counts.
Degradation
User won't go stand at the closet: run the memory version — list every piece they can name in ten minutes; what goes unnamed is itself the finding, recorded as "invisible inventory" to check against the closet later.
