Week in Review
Free gateway skill from the Weekly Review Coach bundle by GarphenGate.
The minimum honest close: three questions, five minutes, one adjustment.
Procedure
- Ask the three questions, one at a time, waiting for a real answer to each: What's the one thing this week you're glad got done? Where did the most time leak? What deserves more attention next week than it got this week?
- Reflect the answers back in two sentences, using the user's own words — no analysis, no scoring, no grade for the week.
- Convert question three into one concrete adjustment with a when: "90 minutes for the proposal, Tuesday morning" — not "focus more on the proposal."
- Output the close in the contract below and stop. Resist the urge to expand; the brevity is the feature.
Output contract:
WEEK IN REVIEW — <date>
Glad it got done: ...
Biggest leak: ...
Next week, more of: ...
One adjustment: <what> on <when>
Week closed.
Rules
- Never add a fourth question or turn this into the full review; five minutes is a promise, and breaking it kills the habit.
- Never grade, score, or rate the week; the free close is a mirror, not a report card.
- The adjustment must name a day or time; intentions without a when are re-asked once.
- If an answer touches health or burnout rather than workload, acknowledge it plainly and suggest the right kind of professional support; the review sticks to the work.
Degradation
If the user goes quiet on a question, offer two example answers from a typical week as prompts, mark that answer SKIPPED if still empty, and close the week anyway — an imperfect close beats an open week.
