Gestalt Negative Space Screenprint Poster

Use the system imagegen skill and image-generation tool. Treat every uploaded photograph as the edit source. Design one unified figure that reveals the hero first and one hidden relation second.

Output contract

• Produce one independent raster poster for every uploaded photo. Never combine photos into a collage, contact sheet, comparison layout, diptych, or shared canvas.
• Use a 3:4 portrait canvas with one exact horizontal 50/50 division. Keep truthful photography in the upper half and the Gestalt screenprint in the lower half. Do not let either medium invade the other.
• Preserve immediate correspondence through the primary hero's silhouette, posture, proportion, direction, and key relationship.
• Build exactly one dominant visual anchor with exactly one hidden secondary image when the source supports it. The second reading must arise from shared shape, not a separate object.
• Render visible wording in English unless the user explicitly requests another language.
• Return every poster as a separate image. Keep user-facing commentary to one short status sentence only when necessary.

Preserve the photographic upper half

Keep the source recognizably photographic. Preserve subject identity and count, anatomy or construction, proportions, pose, silhouette, direction, spatial relationships, real materials, natural light, and the original color atmosphere.

Apply only restrained art-magazine, independent-publication, or exhibition-photography color correction. Do not redraw, vectorize, beautify, materially relight, or apply silhouettes, print texture, typography, or graphic overlays to this region.

Crop deliberately for the upper half. When more area is needed, extend only plausible sky, ground, wall, water, foliage, or environmental background. Never stretch, warp, mirror, duplicate, or redesign the subject.

Choose the first and second readings

Before prompting, privately identify:

1. the primary hero subject or inseparable relationship and its decisive outer silhouette;
2. the hero's posture, direction, visual center of gravity, openings, protrusions, and recognizable negative spaces;
3. three to six identity cues that must remain legible in the first reading;
4. one environment, structure, object, companion, action, memory, or symbolic image most tightly related to the hero;
5. which exact primary edges can double as the secondary image's contours;
6. which internal gap, cutout, counterform, or paper field can become the secondary image's body;
7. the source color relation to translate into two to four soft screenprint colors;
8. one concise English title and only the few annotations that support the dual reading.

The secondary image must come from visible evidence or user-provided context. Do not invent a generic moon, bird, face, doorway, mountain, hand, or other “poetic” symbol merely because its shape fits.

Do not expose this analysis or repeat the user's design brief.

Fuse through shared boundaries

Create one continuous graphic using at least two of these mechanisms:

• one contour edge belongs to both the primary and secondary readings;
• a negative-space cutout forms the secondary image;
• the background becomes figure after a visual reversal;
• two shapes interlock through complementary convex and concave edges;
• the primary silhouette locally enlarges, crops, or folds into the hidden scene;
• a single boundary shifts meaning depending on which color field is read as foreground.

The primary hero must register first at thumbnail size. The hidden image should emerge after a closer look without needing explanation. The change should feel inevitable once noticed.

Do not place two complete shapes on top of each other, put a small icon inside a large silhouette, use transparency overlays, draw a scene inside the subject, or rely on a simple cut-and-paste double exposure. If each image can be moved independently without changing the other, the Gestalt fusion has failed.

Compose one anchor and quiet space

Place the unified figure according to the hero's posture, facing direction, center of gravity, and contour flow. It may be offset, partially cropped, vertically nested, aligned to an edge, or enlarged against blank paper.

Use one clear silhouette, large quiet areas, and very few supporting lines or planes. Shape the negative space so it participates in both the second reading and the overall balance. Keep one visual center and one eye path from first recognition to discovery.

Avoid mechanical centering, rigid symmetry, many small auxiliary icons, decorative backgrounds, repeated motifs, optical-noise patterns, multiple hidden images, or a puzzle that obscures primary recognition.

Present the result as a flat screenprinted editorial artwork. Do not add a frame, wall, desk, hands, printmaking tools, product mockup, or gallery installation.

Translate a two-to-four-color Morandi palette

Start from the upper photograph's most spirited color relationship, then lower saturation, soften contrast, and organize it into two to four clean, airy screenprint colors.

Use a pale paper ground plus combinations such as mist pink, soft apricot, gray-green, sage, pale terracotta, cream yellow, mist blue, or gray-violet only when they preserve the source's warm/cool character. Assign colors by figure/ground function, not decoration.

Control hierarchy through temperature, value difference, and area ratio. The primary form should read first; the secondary image may depend on a quieter value shift or reversed ground.

Keep colors gentle, clean, and breathable. Avoid muddy gray, heavy artificial aging, dark vintage palettes, fluorescent color, high-contrast commercial combinations, candy pastels, rainbow schemes, or more than four active inks.

Print with tactile restraint

Use flat ink fields with crisp, decisive outer boundaries. Add subtle paper fiber, fine screen mesh, slight ink coverage variation, limited registration drift, and small areas of paper show-through.

Texture must not weaken the shared contour or destroy the hidden image. Keep critical edges clean enough to support figure-ground reversal.

Avoid gradients, volumetric shading, realistic light, 3D form, glossy CG, watercolor bleeding, distressed overlays across the whole page, torn-paper collage, thick grunge, halftone photography, and roughness that makes the silhouette ambiguous.

Integrate English type into the figure-ground system

Derive one concise English title from the source's identity, supported place, action, emotion, state, or symbolic meaning. Add only a few place terms, numbers, state words, or micro-annotations when supported.

Arrange type along the primary contour, hidden-image boundary, horizontal baseline, or blank-space axis. A word may be locally cut by a silhouette, partly reversed across a color field, or nested into a gap while remaining legible.

Keep type small, restrained, intelligent, and secondary. Do not use a detached headline, long copy, unsupported locations or numbers, issue codes, pseudo-language, logos, brands, signatures, or watermarks.

Compile the image-edit prompt

Write one source-specific production prompt per input photo containing:

1. one independent 3:4 portrait output and the exact 50% photography / 50% Gestalt-screenprint split;
2. the upper-half preservation invariants, restrained color correction, crop, and any safe background extension;
3. the primary hero, silhouette, posture, direction, center of gravity, openings, and three to six identity cues;
4. the one source-backed hidden image and its narrative or symbolic relationship to the hero;
5. the exact shared contours, negative-space cutouts, complementary edges, figure-ground reversals, crops, or merged shapes that create the two readings;
6. the placement, scale, offset, crop, one visual center, first-to-second reading path, and quiet-space shape;
7. the exact two-to-four source-derived Morandi inks, paper ground, value, temperature, area ratio, and figure/ground assignments;
8. the screenprint flatness, crisp critical edges, paper fiber, ink variation, slight registration drift, and controlled texture;
9. the exact English title and microtext with their contour-, hidden-boundary-, baseline-, reversal-, or gap-aware placement;
10. hard exclusions: no multi-photo layout, no altered or redrawn upper subject, no approximate split, no two independent overlaid objects, no small icon placed inside a silhouette, no transparent double exposure, no scene drawn inside the hero, no multiple hidden images, no busy optical puzzle, no gradient, no 3D, no cartoon, no more than four colors, no muddy aging, no detached headline, no logo, and no watermark.

Use concrete contour ownership, counterform, figure-ground, value, color area, and reading-order language rather than relying on adjectives such as “premium,” “Gestalt,” “poetic,” or “clever.”

Inspect and correct

Review every result at thumbnail and full size. At thumbnail size, verify immediate recognition of the primary hero and one clear anchor. At full size, verify discovery of exactly one source-backed hidden image, shared boundary logic, readable English type, and controlled print texture.

If the two forms look independently layered, redesign their edges so moving one would break both readings. If the hidden image is obvious before the hero, reduce its contrast or simplify it. If it is impossible to discover, strengthen one shared contour or negative cut without adding explanation. If the hero loses identity, restore the decisive silhouette and three strongest cues. If print texture disrupts the illusion, clean the critical boundaries. Regenerate with one targeted correction when needed.
