Options:
--name: Required. A unique name for the data table.--column-info: Required. A JSON array string representing the columns. Each object needscolumnIndex, originalColumn, keyColumn, repeatedValues, and a type indicator (columnTypeormappedColumnPath).--description: Optional. A description of the data table.

Tool 12: generate_threat_detection_opportunity (generate-tdo)
Generates a Threat Detection Opportunity (TDO) for a given threat, which can be a GTI campaign, or a new threat described by the user from any external source. It returns a structured description containing MITRE information, observed contextual IOCs, procedures, and log types.
Usage:
<PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/venv/bin/python <PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/src/secops.py detection generate-tdo --threat "<THREAT_DESCRIPTION_OR_IDENTIFIER>"
Options:
--threat: Required. Description or details of the threat (e.g. a GTI campaign name or custom description).
Examples:
<PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/venv/bin/python <PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/src/secops.py detection generate-tdo --threat "APT29 phishing campaign targeting diplomats"
Tool 13: generate_synthetic_events (generate-events)
Generates synthetic UDM events tailored to a specified Threat Detection Opportunity.
This tool is critical for testing detection logic when real-world malicious logs are unavailable. It uses an LLM to simulate the exact log telemetry (e.g. processes spawning, network connections, file creations) an attacker would generate when performing the actions described in the threat context.
Usage:
<PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/venv/bin/python <PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/src/secops.py detection generate-events --tdo "<JSON_TDO_OBJECT>"
Options:
--tdo: Required. The full TDO JSON object as returned by generate-tdo. Must be a valid JSON object, not a plain string.
Examples:
<PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/venv/bin/python <PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/src/secops.py detection generate-events --tdo '{"summary": "Attacker spawned powershell.exe", "mitreInfo": {"tactics": ["Execution"]}}'
Tool 14: evaluate_rule_coverage (evaluate-rule-coverage)
Evaluates rule coverage for a given set of synthetic UDM events by checking if any existing managed rules match them.
This tool is essential for determining if a threat scenario, represented by synthetic UDM events (usually generated by generate_synthetic_events), is already covered by existing detection content.
Usage:
<PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/venv/bin/python <PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/src/secops.py detection evaluate-rule-coverage --udms-json "<JSON_ARRAY>"
Options:
--udms-json: Required. A JSON array of stringified UDM events to evaluate.
Examples:
<PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/venv/bin/python <PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/src/secops.py detection evaluate-rule-coverage --udms-json '[ "{\"metadata\": {\"event_timestamp\": \"2023-10-27T10:00:00Z\"}, \"principal\": {\"user\": {\"userid\": \"bob\"}}}" ]'
Tool 15: generate_rules (generate-rules)
Generates one or more YARA-L (YL2) rules based on a provided Threat Detection Opportunity (TDO).
Creates draft detection rules and initial metadata (name, description, MITRE ATT&CK mapping) from a structured threat description. This tool is essential for closing coverage gaps when an emerging threat is identified but not adequately detected by existing rules.
Workflow Integration:
- This tool is typically called AFTER
generate_threat_detection_opportunityand if a subsequent coverage analysis identifies a gap. - Generated rules are intended to be reviewed by a detection engineer before deployment via
create_rule.
Usage:
<PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/venv/bin/python <PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/src/secops.py detection generate-rules --threat "<JSON_TDO_OBJECT>"
Options:
--threat: Required. A valid JSON object representing the Threat Detection Opportunity.
Examples:
<PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/venv/bin/python <PATH_TO_SECOPS_SKILLS>/src/secops.py detection generate-rules --threat '{"summary": "Detects execution of encoded PowerShell.", "mitreInfo": {"tactics": ["Execution"], "techniques": ["Command and Scripting Interpreter: PowerShell"]}}'
