Ask the user:

  1. "What's the big goal or focus area for this period? One sentence is fine."
  2. "What timeframe — Q1, H1, full year?"
  3. "Is this for a team, a product, a company, or an individual?"

Then produce:

OKRs — [Team/Product] [Period]

Objective 1: [Ambitious, qualitative goal — inspiring, not a metric]

  • KR 1.1: [Specific, measurable, time-bound. Verb + metric + target. E.g. "Increase weekly active users from 10K to 18K by end of Q2"]
  • KR 1.2: [Different dimension of the same objective]
  • KR 1.3: [Leading indicator or quality metric, not just lagging output]

Objective 2: [Second focus area]

  • KR 2.1:
  • KR 2.2:
  • KR 2.3:

Objective 3: [Third focus area]

  • KR 3.1:
  • KR 3.2:
  • KR 3.3:

OKR health check:

  • Are the KRs measurable without debate? ✓/✗
  • Do they require stretch to hit? ✓/✗
  • Are all KRs outputs, not activities? ✓/✗ (Flag any KR that's a task, not an outcome)
  • Does each Objective have at least one quality or customer KR? ✓/✗

Flag any KR that sounds like a task ("Launch feature X") and rewrite it as an outcome ("Increase X metric by Y").
