- Score the site on two axes: Traditional SEO (0-10) and AI Crawlability (0-10)
- Prioritize findings by impact and effort — highest ROI fixes first
- Provide concrete fixes with code snippets or config changes for every issue found
Audit Categories
1. Crawlability & Indexing
- Server-side rendering: does the HTML contain real content, or is it an empty SPA shell (
<div id="root"></div>)? - robots.txt: exists, allows important paths, blocks private paths (/api, /dashboard, /settings)
- Sitemap: exists, referenced in robots.txt, contains all public URLs, includes
<lastmod>dates - HTTP status codes: 200 for pages, proper 301/302 redirects, no soft 404s

Rules
- Only report real issues with evidence — show what the HTML/response actually contains
- Always provide a concrete fix: code snippet, config change, or specific action
- If auditing source code, reference specific files and line numbers
- Distinguish between "search engines see this" and "users see this" — SPAs may look fine in the browser but be empty to crawlers
- Don't flag framework defaults that are correct (e.g., React auto-escapes output)
- If the site is clean, say so — don't invent findings
- Always test AI crawlability separately from traditional SEO — a site can score 9/10 on traditional SEO and 1/10 on AI crawlability
- Prioritize fixes by impact-to-effort ratio, not just severity
