Automation Orchestrator Skill
Skill Overview
You are an expert automation engineer specializing in orchestrating large-scale Flutter development workflows. This skill automates the implementation of multiple features (1-10) from IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md, managing dependencies, handling failures, and creating atomic commits for each feature.
What This Skill Does:
- Parses complete IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md with all features
- Builds dependency graph to determine execution order
- Implements features sequentially using feature-implementer skill
- Handles feature dependencies (e.g., "Profile" depends on "Authentication")
- Auto-commits each successful feature implementation
- Provides detailed progress tracking and error recovery
- Generates comprehensive orchestration report
Execution Time: 5-10 minutes per feature (50-100 minutes for 10 features)
Prerequisites
Before running this skill, verify:
Flutter Bootstrapper Completed:
# Check Clean Architecture structure exists test -d lib/features && test -d lib/coreIMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md Exists:
test -f docs/IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.mdGit Repository Clean:
# No uncommitted changes git status --porcelain | wc -l # Should be 0PRPROMPTS Files Present:
ls PRPROMPTS/*.md | wc -l # Should be 32
If prerequisites not met:
- Run
@claude use skill automation/flutter-bootstrapperfirst - Commit any pending changes:
git add . && git commit -m "WIP: Save progress"
Step 1: Parse IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md
1.1 Read Complete Implementation Plan
# Display full implementation plan
cat docs/IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md
Expected Structure:
# Implementation Plan
## Phase 1: Core Features (Week 1-2)
### Feature 1: Authentication
**Priority:** HIGH
**Estimated Time:** 6-8 hours
**Dependencies:** None
**Requirements:**
- Email/password authentication
- JWT token management
- Session persistence
**API Endpoints:**
- POST /api/auth/login
- POST /api/auth/register
### Feature 2: User Profile
**Priority:** HIGH
**Estimated Time:** 4-6 hours
**Dependencies:** Authentication
**Requirements:**
- View user profile
- Edit profile information
- Upload profile photo
**API Endpoints:**
- GET /api/users/me
- PUT /api/users/me
## Phase 2: Secondary Features (Week 3-4)
### Feature 3: Product Catalog
**Priority:** MEDIUM
**Estimated Time:** 8-10 hours
**Dependencies:** None
...
1.2 Extract All Features
Parse each feature and extract:
# Feature Extraction Summary
## Total Features Found: {{total_count}}
### Feature 1: Authentication
- **Index:** 0
- **Priority:** HIGH
- **Phase:** Phase 1
- **Dependencies:** None
- **Estimated Time:** 6-8 hours
### Feature 2: User Profile
- **Index:** 1
- **Priority:** HIGH
- **Phase:** Phase 1
- **Dependencies:** ["Authentication"]
- **Estimated Time:** 4-6 hours
### Feature 3: Product Catalog
- **Index:** 2
- **Priority:** MEDIUM
- **Phase:** Phase 2
- **Dependencies:** None
- **Estimated Time:** 8-10 hours
...
Validation:
- ✅ At least 1 feature found
- ✅ All features have names
- ✅ All features have priorities
- ✅ Dependencies reference valid feature names
If validation fails:
❌ ERROR: IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md validation failed
Issues found:
- Feature 5 missing priority field
- Feature 7 has invalid dependency "NonExistentFeature"
- No features found in plan
Please fix IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md and try again.
Step 2: Build Dependency Graph
2.1 Analyze Feature Dependencies
Create dependency map:
# Dependency Graph
## Independent Features (No Dependencies)
- Feature 1: Authentication
- Feature 3: Product Catalog
- Feature 6: Settings
## Dependent Features
- Feature 2: User Profile
- Depends on: Authentication
- Can implement after: Feature 1 complete
- Feature 4: Shopping Cart
- Depends on: Authentication, Product Catalog
- Can implement after: Features 1 & 3 complete
- Feature 5: Order History
- Depends on: Authentication, Shopping Cart
- Can implement after: Features 1, 3, & 4 complete
## Dependency Tree
Authentication (1) ├── User Profile (2) ├── Shopping Cart (4) │ └── Order History (5) └── Payment Processing (8)
Product Catalog (3) └── Shopping Cart (4) └── Order History (5)
Settings (6)
Notifications (7)
2.2 Detect Circular Dependencies
Check for cycles:
// Pseudocode for cycle detection
function detectCycle(features) {
visited = new Set();
recursionStack = new Set();
for each feature in features {
if (hasCycle(feature, visited, recursionStack)) {
return {
hasCycle: true,
cycle: [...recursionStack]
};
}
}
return { hasCycle: false };
}
If circular dependency detected:
❌ ERROR: Circular dependency detected!
Cycle found:
Feature 4 (Shopping Cart) → Feature 5 (Order History) → Feature 4 (Shopping Cart)
This is not resolvable. Please update IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md to break the cycle.
Suggested fix:
- Remove "Order History" from Shopping Cart dependencies
- Or remove "Shopping Cart" from Order History dependencies
Stop orchestration if circular dependency exists.
2.3 Determine Execution Order
Use topological sort to order features:
# Execution Order (Topologically Sorted)
## Implementation Sequence
**Round 1 (Parallel Candidates):**
- Feature 1: Authentication
- Feature 3: Product Catalog
- Feature 6: Settings
- Feature 7: Notifications
**Round 2 (After Round 1):**
- Feature 2: User Profile (depends on: Authentication)
- Feature 4: Shopping Cart (depends on: Authentication, Product Catalog)
**Round 3 (After Round 2):**
- Feature 5: Order History (depends on: Shopping Cart)
**Round 4 (After Round 3):**
- Feature 8: Payment Processing (depends on: Authentication, Shopping Cart)
**Total Rounds:** 4
**Sequential Execution Required:** Yes (dependencies present)
**Estimated Total Time:**
- Sequential: 55-70 hours
- With this automation: 50-60 minutes (90%+ time savings)
Apply input constraints:
# Applying Input Constraints
**Input:**
- feature_count: {{feature_count}}
- start_from_index: {{start_from_index}}
- stop_on_failure: {{stop_on_failure}}
**Filtered Execution Order:**
Starting from index {{start_from_index}}, implementing {{feature_count}} features:
1. Feature {{X}}: {{Name}}
2. Feature {{Y}}: {{Name}}
...
{{feature_count}}. Feature {{Z}}: {{Name}}
**Note:** Dependencies outside this range will cause errors.
If Feature Y depends on Feature X and X is not in range, Feature Y will fail.
Step 3: Dry Run Preview (Optional)
If dry_run: true, show preview and exit:
# Orchestration Dry Run Preview
## Summary
- Total features in plan: {{total}}
- Features to implement: {{feature_count}}
- Starting from index: {{start_from_index}}
- Auto-commit: {{auto_commit}}
- Stop on failure: {{stop_on_failure}}
## Execution Plan
### Feature 1: Authentication (Index 0)
- **Priority:** HIGH
- **Dependencies:** None
- **Estimated Implementation Time:** 6-8 minutes
- **Files to Create:** ~25 files
- **Tests to Write:** ~10 test files
- **Commit Message:** "feat(auth): implement authentication feature"
### Feature 2: User Profile (Index 1)
- **Priority:** HIGH
- **Dependencies:** Authentication ✅ (will be implemented in Feature 1)
- **Estimated Implementation Time:** 4-6 minutes
- **Files to Create:** ~20 files
- **Tests to Write:** ~8 test files
- **Commit Message:** "feat(profile): implement user profile feature"
...
## Total Estimated Time: {{total_time}} minutes
## Commits to Create: {{commit_count}}
---
**This is a DRY RUN. No files will be created or modified.**
To execute this plan, run again with dry_run: false
Stop execution after showing preview.
Step 4: Implement Features Sequentially
For each feature in execution order:
4.1 Prepare Feature Context
# Implementing Feature {{index + 1}} of {{total}}
## Feature: {{feature_name}}
**Progress:** {{completed}}/{{total}} features complete ({{percentage}}%)
**Details:**
- Priority: {{priority}}
- Dependencies: {{dependencies || "None"}}
- Estimated Time: {{estimated_time}}
**Starting implementation...**
4.2 Check Dependencies
Verify all dependencies have been implemented:
## Dependency Check
Feature "{{feature_name}}" depends on:
{{#each dependencies}}
- {{this}}: {{#if implemented}}✅ Implemented{{else}}❌ Not yet implemented{{/if}}
{{/each}}
{{#if all_dependencies_met}}
✅ All dependencies met. Proceeding with implementation.
{{else}}
❌ Missing dependencies. Cannot implement this feature yet.
**Resolution:**
{{#if in_orchestration_range}}
- These dependencies will be implemented in earlier steps
- This feature will be skipped and retried later
{{else}}
- These dependencies are outside the orchestration range
- This feature will be marked as failed
{{/if}}
{{/if}}
If dependencies not met:
- Option A: Skip and retry after dependencies implemented
- Option B: Fail feature if dependencies outside range
- Option C: Stop orchestration if
stop_on_failure: true
4.3 Invoke feature-implementer Skill
Call feature-implementer for current feature:
## Invoking feature-implementer Skill
**Input Parameters:**
- feature_name: "{{feature_name}}"
- implementation_plan_path: "{{implementation_plan_path}}"
- test_coverage_target: {{test_coverage_target}}
- generate_integration_tests: {{index < 3}} (yes for first 3 features)
**Expected Output:**
- Files created: 20-30 files
- Test coverage: {{test_coverage_target}}%+
- Implementation time: 5-10 minutes
---
[Starting feature-implementer execution...]
Execute feature-implementer skill:
// Pseudocode
const result = await featureImplementer.execute({
featureName: feature.name,
implementationPlanPath: inputs.implementation_plan_path,
testCoverageTarget: inputs.test_coverage_target,
});
if (result.success) {
// Continue to Step 4.4
} else {
// Handle failure (Step 4.6)
}
4.4 Validate Implementation
After feature-implementer completes:
## Validation
### 1. Flutter Analyze
```bash
## Error Handling and Recovery
### Common Errors
#### Error 1: Circular Dependency
**Error Message:**
❌ Circular dependency detected: Feature A → Feature B → Feature A
**Solution:**
1. Open `docs/IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md`
2. Remove one dependency to break the cycle
3. Re-run orchestration
#### Error 2: Missing Dependency
**Error Message:**
❌ Feature "User Profile" depends on "Authentication" which is not in implementation range
**Solution:**
- **Option A:** Include dependency in range: `start_from_index: 0`
- **Option B:** Remove dependency from IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md
- **Option C:** Implement dependency manually first
#### Error 3: Git Merge Conflict
**Error Message:**
❌ Git merge conflict detected when committing Feature "Shopping Cart"
**Solution:**
1. **Resolve conflict:**
```bash
git status # See conflicting files
# Edit files to resolve conflicts
git add .
git commit --no-edit
- Resume orchestration:
@claude use skill automation/automation-orchestrator # Input: start_from_index: {{next_feature_index}}
Error 4: Test Timeout
Error Message:
❌ Tests timed out after 10 minutes for Feature "Video Processing"
Solution:
- Implement feature manually:
@claude use skill automation/feature-implementer - Increase timeout in feature-specific tests
- Skip this feature: Continue orchestration from next feature
Error 5: Out of Memory
Error Message:
❌ Out of memory during code generation for Feature "Large Dataset"
Solution:
- Implement feature in smaller chunks
- Optimize data models (reduce field count)
- Implement feature manually with streaming patterns
Recovery Strategies
Strategy 1: Resume from Last Successful
# Check last successful commit
git log --oneline | head -1
# Resume orchestration
@claude use skill automation/automation-orchestrator
# Input: start_from_index: {{last_failed_index}}
Strategy 2: Manual Fix + Resume
# 1. Fix failed feature manually
cd lib/features/{{failed_feature}}
# Edit files...
# 2. Commit fix
git add .
git commit -m "fix({{feature}}): manual fix after orchestration failure"
# 3. Resume orchestration
@claude use skill automation/automation-orchestrator
# Input: start_from_index: {{next_index}}
Strategy 3: Skip Failed Feature
# Mark feature as "skipped" in IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md
# Add note: "⏭️ SKIPPED: Implemented manually later"
# Continue orchestration
@claude use skill automation/automation-orchestrator
# Input: start_from_index: {{failed_index + 1}}
Performance Optimization
Tip 1: Batch Similar Features
Group similar features together in IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN.md:
✅ Good:
### Feature 1: User Login
### Feature 2: User Registration
### Feature 3: Password Reset
(All auth features together)
❌ Bad:
### Feature 1: User Login
### Feature 2: Product Catalog
### Feature 3: User Registration
(Auth features scattered)
Why: Reduces context switching, faster implementation
Tip 2: Parallelize Independent Features
Although orchestrator runs sequentially, you can run multiple orchestrators:
# Terminal 1: Implement auth features
@claude use skill automation/automation-orchestrator
# Input: start_from_index: 0, feature_count: 3
# Terminal 2: Implement catalog features (no auth dependency)
@claude use skill automation/automation-orchestrator
# Input: start_from_index: 5, feature_count: 3
Merge later:
git checkout main
git pull
git merge feature/auth-features
git merge feature/catalog-features
Tip 3: Use Dry Run First
Always preview execution plan:
@claude use skill automation/automation-orchestrator
# Input: dry_run: true
# Review plan, then execute
@claude use skill automation/automation-orchestrator
# Input: dry_run: false
Why: Catch dependency issues early, adjust feature count
