Scrapling
Scrapling is a web scraping framework with anti-bot bypass, stealth browser automation, and a spider framework. It provides three fetching strategies (HTTP, dynamic JS, stealth/Cloudflare) and a full CLI.
This skill is for educational and research purposes only. Users must comply with local/international data scraping laws and respect website Terms of Service.
When to Use
- Scraping static HTML pages (faster than browser tools)
- Scraping JS-rendered pages that need a real browser
- Bypassing Cloudflare Turnstile or bot detection
- Crawling multiple pages with a spider
- When the built-in
web_extracttool does not return the data you need
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ — verify with

Installation
Full install (HTTP + browser + stealth):
pip install "scrapling[all]"
scrapling install
Minimal install (HTTP only, no browser):
pip install scrapling
Browser automation only:

HARD RULE: You MUST run
scrapling installafter pip install. Without it,DynamicFetcherandStealthyFetcherwill fail with a browser-not-found error.

Pitfalls
- Browser install required (HARD RULE): Run
scrapling installafter pip install — without it,DynamicFetcherandStealthyFetcherwill fail with a browser-not-found error. - Timeout units differ (HARD RULE):
DynamicFetcher/StealthyFetchertimeout is in milliseconds (default 30000).Fetchertimeout is in seconds. Mixing these up causes premature timeouts or hangs. - Cloudflare bypass latency:
solve_cloudflare=Trueadds 5–15 seconds to fetch time — only enable when needed. - Resource usage:
StealthyFetcherruns a real browser — limit concurrent usage to avoid memory exhaustion. - Legal compliance (HARD RULE): Always check
robots.txtand website Terms of Service before scraping. This library is for educational and research purposes only. - Python version (HARD RULE): Requires Python 3.10+. Older versions will fail at import.
- Windows PowerShell quoting: Use single quotes for JSON payloads in CLI commands. If single quotes cause issues in PowerShell, escape with backticks or use
--jsonwith a here-string. - Proxy format: Proxy string must include scheme:
http://user:pass@proxy:8080. Omitting the scheme causes silent failures.
Verification
Verify Installation

Expected: a version string (e.g., 0.3.x or similar).
Verify Browser Binaries
scrapling install
Re-running is safe; it will report if browsers are already installed.
Verify CLI Extract

Then check the output file exists:

Expected: True. Open quotes.md to confirm scraped content is present.
Verify Python Fetcher

Expected: 10. If this fails with a browser error, re-run scrapling install.
