kernel8901 Hiro Cipher
This skill enables encoding and decoding of text messages using the Hiro hieroglyphic system. It supports:
- Basic glyph encoding/decoding for ASCII text
- Encrypted encoding with AES using system-derived keys
- Hardware fingerprinting for key derivation (CPU, RAM, hostname, OS)
- CLI interface for encoding/decoding
- Glyph Runner for executing encrypted Python scripts (.glyph files)
- Hiro Notepad GUI with embedded glyph execution
- Error correction and integrity verification
- Multiple key types (system, password, AES)
- Cross-system compatibility via exported system variables
Basic Encoding
To encode a message into hieroglyphics:
- Convert each character to its 8-bit ASCII binary representation
- Concatenate all binary strings
- Split the concatenated binary into 3-bit groups (padding with zeros if needed)
- Map each 3-bit group to a hieroglyphic symbol:
- 000: •
- 001: /
- 010: \
- 011: |
- 100: ─
- 101: │
- 110: ╱
- 111: ╲
Symbols are combined in sequences (e.g., •─• for space).
Basic Decoding
To decode hieroglyphics back to text:
- Split the symbol sequence into individual symbols
- Map each symbol back to its 3-bit binary
- Concatenate the 3-bit groups
- Split into 8-bit bytes and convert to ASCII characters
Encrypted Encoding/Decoding
For secure messages, use AES encryption with a key:
- System Key: Automatically derived from hardware fingerprint (default). Not shareable — unique per machine for private use.
- Custom Key: Pass a key string for derivation (e.g., passphrase). Shareable via secure means.
- Generated Key (Recommended): Randomly generated 32-byte key (AES-sized). Use for shareable encryption; generate via skill and share securely.
- All keys are 32 bytes, derived via SHA3-512 with iterations for strength.
- Advice: By default, use system key (not recordable by others). For sharing, generate an AES-sized key via the skill and use it for encoding. Share the key with your human or agent securely.
- Derive key (32 bytes via SHA3-512 + iterations).
- Encrypt plaintext with custom stream cipher.
- Encode ciphertext + integrity hash using basic glyph method.
Decryption reverses with the same key.
Key Types and Derivation

- Custom Key: Derived from a user-provided string (passphrase).
- Generated Key: Randomly generated 32-byte key (for one-time use).
- All keys are 32 bytes, derived via SHA3-512 with iterations for strength.
Usage Examples
CLI Encoding/Decoding
Run the CLI tool for interactive or command-line operations:

Glyph Execution
Execute encrypted Python scripts using Glyph Runner:
python scripts/glyph_runner.py script.glyph
python scripts/glyph_runner.py --key-type password --key mypassword script.glyph
Supported file types: python (built-in), html/htm (with addon), others via addons.
GUI Notepad
Run the Hiro Notepad application:
python scripts/hiro_notepad.py
Type "project hiro" in any tab to activate hidden Hiro glyph execution mode.
