Post to Campaign

Turns a single LinkedIn post into a ready-to-launch La Growth Machine campaign: it reads the post, scrapes the people who liked and commented into one audience, and fills a draft campaign whose copy is calibrated to the post and your objective. You attach the audience and launch.

Authority — read this first

Everything to run the common path is inlined below. The three reference files hold the detail for one step each; open a file only when you reach that step.

• Scraping the engagers into an audience (identities, async import, polling, the audience naming rule) → references/audience-from-post.md. Read it at Step 3.
• Creating the draft campaign in LGM (newHtml format, find-or-duplicate a structure, reconcile steps, fill each message) → references/lgm-campaign-create.md. Read it at Step 5.
• Copywriting rules for the sequence (structure, banned phrases, anti-AI tells, per-channel length) → references/copywriting-rules.md. Read it at Step 4. This is the base rule set. If the multichannel-campaign-builder skill is installed, defer copy generation to it for a deeper result (see Step 4).

Do not re-derive these from scratch when the file already covers them. Ask the user's input questions in English, and never use an em-dash in anything you write to the user. The campaign copy itself is written in the language of the post (confirmed with the user).

What it does

Two layers, so it is useful with or without La Growth Machine:

• Standalone (no LGM needed): from the post's content and your objective, it writes the full outreach sequence copy, ready to paste into any tool.
• With the LGM MCP connected: it also scrapes the post's likers and commenters into a single audience and fills a draft campaign with that copy, so the only thing left to do is attach the audience and hit launch.

Workflow

Step 1 — Gather the brief (ask in English, no em-dash)

Ask only for what is missing, in one message, then proceed:

1. The LinkedIn post — its URL (preferred, so the engagers can be scraped) or, if the user cannot share the URL, the pasted post text (copy-only, standalone path).
2. The campaign objective — what a reply should lead to (book a demo, drive a free trial, adopt a resource, join a webinar, soft nurture). This drives the CTA.
3. The channel mix — LinkedIn only, or multichannel (LinkedIn + email). Recommend multichannel: it lifts reply rates, and post engagers are a warm signal worth more than one channel.
4. The copy language — default to the language of the post. Confirm it, and let the user override.
5. Which LinkedIn identity to scrape and send from, only if Step 3 later finds more than one connected identity.

If the user already gave everything up front, skip to Step 2.

Step 2 — Read the post

• LGM MCP available: call get_linkedin_post with the URL. Keep the post text (the angle source), the author name (the audience name), and the post date.
• No MCP: use the pasted post text. Ask for the author's name if you will name an audience later; otherwise proceed on the text alone.

Summarize the post's core idea in one line to yourself. That idea is the campaign's angle: engagers reacted to this point, so the opener speaks to it.

Step 3 — Build the audience from the engagers (LGM MCP path)

Only when the LGM MCP is connected and the user gave a post URL. Follow references/audience-from-post.md. In short:

1. list_identities → pick the identity (ask the user if there is more than one).
2. Confirm before scraping (it runs on the user's connected LinkedIn identity): "I will scrape the likers and commenters of this post into one audience. Go?"
3. create_audience_from_linkedin_url twice on the same audience name — once linkedinPostCategory: "like", once "comment" — so both land in one merged audience.
4. Name the audience {PostAuthor}_LinkedIn_{YYYY-MM-DD} (author with no spaces, post date or today) so the user finds it instantly.
5. The create calls return only a success status, not an audience ID, and there is no list-audiences tool, so you cannot poll the import or read the lead count from the MCP. Confirm both scrapes launched and point the user to the audience by its name in the LGM Audiences view (details in the reference file). Handle 0 leads or a blocked import per the reference file.

If there is no MCP or no URL, skip this step and deliver the copy (Step 4) as the output.

Step 4 — Generate the sequence copy

Calibrate to the post idea, the objective, the channel mix, and the post's language.

• If multichannel-campaign-builder is installed, defer to it for the sequence: it carries the full angle, CTA and channel frameworks. Pass it the post idea as the signal, the objective, and the channel mix, then use its output.
• Otherwise, write the sequence with the base rules in references/copywriting-rules.md. Cover the common shape: a LinkedIn invite that speaks to the post's idea, follow-up touches that each move to a fresh angle, and one objective-driven CTA. Post engagement is a warm signal, so reference the topic of the post, never the individual's like or comment (that reads as surveillance). Invite the user to install multichannel-campaign-builder for a sharper result.

Self-check every message against the checklist in references/copywriting-rules.md before it ships (no em-dash, one ask, no banned phrases, length per channel). Rewrite anything that fails.

Step 5 — Create the draft campaign (LGM MCP path)

Only when the LGM MCP is connected. Follow references/lgm-campaign-create.md. In short: find an existing campaign whose shape matches the channel mix (list_campaigns + get_campaign_steps), duplicate it (duplicate_campaign), reconcile its real steps against the sequence, and fill each step in newHtml (add_campaign_step_message for empty steps, edit_campaign_message for filled ones). Confirm before the first write. If no structure matches, hand the copy to the user and ask them to create the shape, then fill it. The campaign is left a draft, never launched.

Step 6 — Handoff

Present the result per Output & LGM handoff below.

When the full pipeline ran (audience + draft campaign created)

Report one line per campaign step (filled / skipped / error), then close with this exact shape, in English, links as absolute URLs built from the returned IDs:

Heads up: this draft was duplicated from "{seedCampaignName}", so it still points at that campaign's audience. Before launch you MUST detach that audience and attach "{audienceName}" instead, or the sequence goes to the wrong people. Then review the copy and launch. Nothing is sent until you do.

Two things the skill cannot do and must flag every time:

• The duplicated draft carries the seed campaign's audience. The MCP cannot swap it, so warn the user explicitly to detach the seed's audience and attach the new one. This is the single most dangerous silent failure: launching sends to the seed's leads, not the post's engagers.
• No lead count. The scrape returns no audience ID and there is no list-audiences tool, so the count is not readable from the MCP. Point to the audience by name; the user sees the count in the Audiences view.

The remaining steps (swapping the audience and launching) are done by the user in LGM, because the MCP cannot bind an audience to a campaign or start it, so the skill deliberately stops at a reviewed draft. Also tell the user the draft kept the seed's name (and often its language flag): renaming is a manual step in the app, the API cannot do it.

When only the copy was produced (no MCP, or no post URL)

Deliver the sequence as native fenced code blocks, one per message, each with a label line above it so the user gets a working copy button:

• LGM account, no MCP: "To do this straight from Claude next time, install the La Growth Machine MCP."
