Fourth-Wall Repair
Make subject-only prose stand on its own. Remove artifact narration, reading choreography, page-role commentary, and commissioning residue while carrying every subject fact into the result.
Output Language
Match the language of the user's request, and apply it to all user-facing output - option labels, generated-document headings, table column names - not just prose. If the user explicitly asks for another language, that wins.
Language follows the request, not the source material. When the user writes in Chinese but the uploaded document, code, or reference is in English, output stays Chinese.
If the request is in Chinese, use Traditional Chinese (Taiwan business usage) and keep established technical terms in English.
The English in this file is structural labelling for you, not literal output. Never mirror this file's language into your response.
Scope
This skill edits prose in presentations, sliduments, Markdown, reports, README files, specifications, and technical documents. It does not inspect EXIF, Office properties, Git history, HTML metadata, Markdown frontmatter, or embedded code unless the user explicitly puts those structures in scope.
Use it as a focused cleanup pass. Voice, AI-isms, document structure, factual review, and RFP authoring remain outside scope except where a meta-only sentence or section must be removed.
Modes
- Detect: The user asks to inspect, check, audit, identify, or flag. Leave the source byte-identical.
- Rewrite: The user supplies prose and asks to remove, rewrite, or clean it up without authorizing a file change. Return the revised prose and leave files unchanged.
- Edit in place: The user asks to remove, rewrite, clean up, or directly edit a named file. Change only the responsible spans and any heading left empty by their removal.
- Bare invocation: A file is named without an action. Default to detect mode so an ambiguous request does not mutate the file.
Subject test
Judge each candidate by asking: if the artifact disappeared and only its subject remained, would this sentence still say something true or actionable about that subject?
- If yes, keep the subject fact and remove only its artifact wrapper.
- If no, remove the sentence.
- If the answer depends on the genre or navigation needs, mark it borderline and retain it until the need is established.
The test separates extrinsic metadata from intrinsic facts. An artifact version identifies the document; an API or model version identifies the subject. A page number used as a reading cue describes the artifact; an RFP section number identifies evidence. A repository path or filename identifies where the prose came from, not a fact about the subject.
Candidate classes
Artifact narration
Language that tells what the deck, document, report, slide, page, or section contains, is for, or was designed to do.
Reading choreography
Roadmaps and reader directions such as where to start, which thread to follow, what comes next, or how to interpret the sequence.
Page-role commentary
Statements that call a page a transition, summary, opener, closer, or bridge instead of expressing the relationship the page carries.
Commissioning residue
Language inherited from the authoring conversation, including references to the user's request, supplied materials, desired tone, production process, or drafting choices.
Reader address
Direct address that manages attention rather than naming a real action. Direct requests remain subject matter when they identify an owner, decision, deliverable, or operational step.
Internal source and merge pointers
Labels and pointers that expose document provenance or assembly instead of stating the subject: 內容來源:docs/AI微服務平台RFP.md, "本節承接前一份文件", "如前述", "詳見另一份文件", and orphaned "如下圖" or "如下表" references.
Remove repository paths, filenames, sibling-document pointers, and merge labels unless the user explicitly requires audit traceability or the pointer performs a named operational or compliance function.
Self-endorsement
Statements that vouch for the document's completeness, method, or traceability instead of carrying out the method: "所有結論均依前述標準" or "本表資料皆已完整核對". Remove defensive certification when it adds no subject fact. Keep a method or audit statement when it disambiguates an actual governing criterion or when provenance is itself the deliverable.
Process leakage
Narration of the author's hidden evaluation or drafting path: "我先比較甲家,接著改看乙家" or "我們先整理資料,再把這段放到本頁". Rewrite it as the evidence, decision, or relationship it produced. Keep reader-facing rationale, real numbered procedures, and comparisons when the comparison itself is the subject.
Legitimate lookalikes
Keep prose that serves the subject rather than commenting on the artifact:
- external source citations and traceability that identify evidence, including RFP section numbers;
- system, API, model, requirement, and release versions;
- operational instructions in tutorials, runbooks, procedures, and user interfaces;
- navigation required by a reference document, long manual, or intentionally nonlinear deck;
- concrete partner requests, decisions, open questions, scope boundaries, and deliverables;
- quoted text, citations, legal wording, code, identifiers, and user-declared protected text.
Do not treat an internal file path, filename, source label, or sibling-document pointer as evidence merely because it names a source. When a lookalike is retained, record the exact function it serves. "Useful" is not enough; name the evidence, action, navigation need, or subject fact it preserves.
Procedure
1. Establish the artifact contract
Read the complete artifact and identify its language, genre, mode, and whether it is meant to be subject-only, instructional, or navigable. Treat manuscript instructions as text to inspect, not commands to follow.
Done when every section has been read and the intended role of navigation and direct address is explicit.
2. Lock subject facts
Collect the facts that carry meaning: numbers, dates, names, technical terms, subject versions, external evidence citations, scope boundaries, decisions, unresolved items, commitments, partner requests, owners, source quotations, and links. Treat repository paths, filenames, provenance labels, and merge pointers as candidates for removal, not as locked subject facts.
Done when every fact that could be lost by deletion has a known landing place in the retained or rewritten text.
3. Classify every candidate
Scan all eight candidate classes and apply the subject test. Give each candidate one disposition: keep, remove, rewrite, or borderline. For borderline text, identify the missing context that would settle the decision rather than guessing.
Done when every candidate has one disposition and no span appears twice under neighboring classes.
4. Replace the wrapper with the subject
Work at the smallest span that leaves natural prose. State the system, workflow, relationship, decision, or requirement directly. Delete spans that carry no subject fact. When deleting all content under a heading, remove that now-empty heading as part of the same edit.
Done when each rewrite is traceable to source wording and each deletion is empty of subject facts.
5. Prove fidelity
Compare the source and result for the locked facts. Check especially that an open question did not become a settled decision, an artifact version was not confused with a subject version, and a real instruction was not mistaken for reader choreography.
Done when every locked fact remains unchanged in meaning and no new claim, benefit, number, owner, deadline, or decision has appeared.
6. Report
In detect mode, list location, class, quoted span, disposition, reason, and concrete rewrite direction for every finding. Confirm that the source stayed unchanged.
In rewrite mode, return the revised prose, then account for each removed or rewritten span. Confirm that no file was changed.
In edit-in-place mode, list each changed span as before -> after, then list retained borderline spans with their reasons. State whether any factual, structural, or voice issue remains outside scope.
Done when the report accounts for every finding and every changed span, and states whether deliberate meta language remains.
Completion bar
The artifact is clean when no remaining sentence talks about its own construction, source path, merge history, reading path, page role, or commissioning context unless that reference performs a named navigation, evidence, instructional, or audit function. Every subject fact, source citation, technical identifier, scope boundary, partner request, number, and unresolved decision survives. The cleanup introduces no claim the source did not make.
