Factors affecting TSH interpretation:

Step 2: Hypothyroidism Management

Subclinical hypothyroidism treatment decision:

Pregnancy:

- Never order thyroid ultrasound for abnormal TSH alone; ultrasound is indicated for palpable nodules, incidental imaging findings, or risk stratification of known nodules—not for screening
