13F Diff

Runs during the quarterly 13F filing window. It pulls tracked managers' holdings, compares against the previous run, and highlights new, exited, or materially changed positions.

Model baseline

Use DeepSeek as the default Hermes model. DeepSeek V4 Flash is enough for the standing diff. Use a stronger DeepSeek model for a separate deep-dive memo.

What it does

Refresh managers: pull current-quarter holdings for tracked managers.
Diff state: compare with the prior Hermes memory snapshot.
Add news context: for the largest changed names, call news_browse to catch recent company announcements.
Deliver: send only material changes, with as-of filing dates.

Some Hermes versions support every 3d (as of v0.18.x). If a user's version does not, use a daily cron and pause/resume it manually. 13F-HR filings are due 45 days after quarter end, so windows cluster around mid-February, mid-May, mid-August, and mid-November.

Cost of watching

Keep runs lean: check remaining credits before heavy calls, prefer a small manager set, and skip optional reverse holder checks when credits are low. Pausing outside the filing windows keeps quiet months free.

Output contract

Each delivered diff should include:

manager name;
filing period and as-of filing date;
new positions, exited positions, and largest material changes;
recent news found for changed names, or "no recent company news found";
tool names used for facts;
credits used.

Do not call the result "all institutional ownership." The 13F tools cover the manager set exposed by LLMQuant Data for the requested quarter.

Managers: edit watchlist.13f_managers in workspace AGENTS.md.
Interval: use every 1d near the filing deadline only if the user wants faster updates and accepts the cost.
News pass: cap to the top 5 changed tickers unless the user asks for more.
Pause discipline: keep this job off most of the year.
