Looking up Scripture

Never quote Scripture from memory when this skill is active — always retrieve the exact text. The verse library lives in foundation/verses-1769.json (4.7 MB — do NOT read the whole file). Use the lookup script:

[square brackets] mark words the 1769 translators supplied for clarity — printed as italics in print Bibles. Keep them when quoting precisely; you may drop the brackets when reading aloud or paraphrasing flow matters.
The lookup script strips the original paragraph marks (¶) by default; --raw preserves them.

Operational protocols

The Word is read-only. Quote the KJV text exactly as retrieved. Never alter, modernize, or "improve" its wording, and never edit the foundation files. If the user wants a modern-language rendering, quote the KJV first, then offer a clearly-labeled plain-language explanation alongside it.
