metagit-ai Metagit CLI (agent shortcuts)
Use this skill when an agent should drive metagit only through the metagit command. Do not call MCP tools or metagit api from workflows covered here unless the user explicitly asks.

Manifest editing fast map (.metagit.yml)
Use this table first when changing a workspace manifest from the CLI. Prefer catalog commands for projects/repos; use config patch for everything else in the schema (documentation, graph, dedupe overrides, nested fields).

version check compares the installed package to the latest GitHub release (release notes) and PyPI. version upgrade plans or runs a self-update via the detected package manager (uv tool upgrade metagit-cli when installed with uv tool). Default is dry-run; pass --apply to execute. MCP: metagit_version_check, metagit_version_upgrade (apply: true to upgrade). Both work without an active workspace gate. Editable dev installs cannot self-update.
