Tool
GET /api/v1/tasks/search
Purpose
Full-text search across task titles and descriptions. Unlike the browse endpoint (GET /api/v1/tasks), this uses PostgreSQL full-text ranking to return results ordered by relevance. Use this when you're looking for specific tasks by keyword.
Authentication
Required. Bearer token via API key.

Latency Target
< 50ms p95 for queries on datasets up to 10,000 tasks.
Rate Limit
100 requests per minute per API key. Rate limit info is included in response headers:

Rollback
Not applicable — this is a read-only endpoint with no side effects.

Notes
- Query is sanitized: special characters removed, words joined with AND logic, prefix matching enabled (
word:*). - Results are ordered by relevance (highest first), then by ID (newest first) as tiebreaker.
- This endpoint differs from
GET /api/v1/tasks— browse uses cursor pagination sorted by creation time; search uses full-text ranking. - The
relevancefield is a float (0–1) computed by PostgreSQLts_rank. - Use
GET /api/v1/tasksfor browsing/filtering; use this endpoint when you have specific keywords.
