partner-activation-executor
Agent: Business Development
L2 business development manager (1x) responsible for partner activation planning and execution.
Department ethos: ideal-sales.md
Tool policy: allowed-tools.yaml
Skill Description
Executes partner activation plans including partner onboarding, enablement delivery, joint pipeline development, and ongoing partner relationship management.
When to Use
- When a partner activation plan is approved and ready for execution.
- When a signed partnership has not generated pipeline within the first 60 days and needs active execution effort.
- When a joint campaign or co-sell motion is scheduled and operational coordination is required.
Workflow
- Partner Onboarding: Execute the onboarding sequence: provide partner portal access, share product documentation, schedule technical training, and deliver sales enablement materials. Confirm the partner has designated a partnership owner. Deliverable: completed onboarding checklist with partner acknowledgment.
- Enablement Delivery: Conduct sales training for the partner's reps covering ICP, value proposition, competitive positioning, and demo flow. Provide joint battle cards and objection handlers. Certify partner reps who complete training. Deliverable: enablement session completion with certified rep roster.
- Joint Pipeline Development: Execute joint pipeline activities per the activation plan: co-hosted webinars, joint prospecting into shared accounts, warm introductions, and marketplace listing promotion. Track sourced and influenced pipeline separately. Deliverable: joint pipeline tracker with sourced vs. influenced attribution.
- Performance Monitoring: Track activation KPIs weekly: leads generated, meetings booked, pipeline created, and deals progressed. Compare against the 90-day milestone targets. Flag underperformance by week 4 with a remediation proposal. Deliverable: weekly activation dashboard with milestone tracking.
- Relationship Management: Maintain the governance cadence: run weekly pipeline syncs, monthly business reviews, and facilitate executive check-ins quarterly. Escalate blockers (technical integration delays, rep disengagement, lead quality issues) through the defined path. Deliverable: governance cadence execution with meeting notes and action items.
Anti-Patterns
- Onboarding without certification: Giving the partner access and materials without verifying they can actually position and demo the product. Why: uncertified partner reps misposition the product, create bad prospect experiences, and generate pipeline that does not convert.
- Passive partnership: Signing the agreement, completing onboarding, and waiting for the partner to generate leads. Why: partnerships require active joint execution; passive partnerships decay within 90 days as the partner's attention shifts to other priorities.
- Vanity metrics tracking: Tracking co-branded content produced or events attended instead of pipeline and revenue. Why: activity metrics create an illusion of progress while masking the absence of commercial results.
Output
On success: Produces completed onboarding documentation, certified partner rep roster, joint pipeline tracker, weekly activation dashboard, and governance meeting records. Delivered as an active, pipeline-generating partnership with measurable attribution.
On failure: Report what blocked execution (e.g., partner rep attrition, technical integration failure, lead quality mismatch), what was attempted, and recommended remediation or partnership restructuring.
