peer-review-platform-manager
Agent: Analyst Relations Manager
L2 analyst relations manager responsible for analyst briefings, inquiry responses, Magic Quadrant strategy, and peer review platform management.
Department ethos: ideal-marketing.md
Skill Description
Manages the company's presence on G2, Capterra, and other peer review platforms, building the social proof that enterprise buyers consult during vendor evaluation.
When to Use
- The company's review volume or ratings on key platforms are below competitive benchmarks.
- A new product or category listing needs establishing on peer review platforms.
- Quarterly review generation campaigns are due to maintain fresh, recent reviews.
- Negative reviews appear that require response and internal feedback routing.
Workflow
- Audit the company's current presence across peer review platforms using
references/checklist.md Checklist 1: profile completeness, review volume, average rating, competitive ranking, and recency of reviews. Use the platform prioritisation framework in references/framework.md to identify which platforms deserve the most investment.
- Optimise platform profiles against the profile optimisation standards in
references/framework.md: update product descriptions, feature lists, screenshots, integrations, and pricing information to reflect current offerings.
- Design the review generation programme: identify target reviewers from high-satisfaction triggers (NPS Promoters, renewals, QBRs) using the solicitation trigger table in
references/framework.md. Apply all solicitation rules — no quid pro quo incentives. Complete references/checklist.md Checklist 2 before launching.
- Launch review solicitation campaigns timed to positive customer milestones. Set velocity targets per platform using the targets in
references/framework.md. Time campaigns to align with seasonal badge cycles.
- Monitor new reviews daily. Respond to all reviews within SLAs using the response protocol by sentiment type in
references/framework.md. All 1–2 star reviews responded within 24 hours; all reviews responded within 72 hours.
- Route feedback from negative reviews to the relevant internal team using the negative theme classification table in
references/framework.md: product, support, CS, or security depending on theme.
- Track competitive review trends: monitor competitor ratings, review volume, and competitive rating gap using the sentiment tracking metrics from
references/framework.md. Alert if competitive rating gap exceeds 0.5 stars.
- Run monthly platform health review using
references/checklist.md Checklist 3. Report on review volume trend, average rating, competitive positioning, badge status, and sentiment themes to VP Marketing.
Anti-Patterns
- Soliciting reviews only from the happiest customers. Why: Platforms detect and penalise review manipulation; a mix of genuine reviews including constructive criticism builds more credible social proof.
- Ignoring negative reviews instead of responding. Why: Unaddressed negative reviews signal to buyers that the company does not care about customer feedback; public responses demonstrate accountability.
- Treating review platforms as a set-and-forget profile. Why: Stale profiles with outdated screenshots and descriptions undermine credibility; platforms reward active, updated listings with better visibility.
- Offering incentives that violate platform terms of service. Why: Platforms penalise or delist companies caught incentivising reviews improperly, destroying the entire review investment.
Output
Success artifacts:
- Optimised platform profiles with current product information
- Review generation campaign plan with target reviewers and outreach cadence
- Monthly platform health report with ratings, volume, and competitive benchmarks
- Review response log with internal feedback routing records
Failure reporting:
- Flag sudden rating drops or clusters of negative reviews within 24 hours
- Escalate platform policy violations or delisting risks to marketing leadership immediately
