Capturing a voice
- Get 3-5 samples of the target voice (emails, posts, speeches).
- Extract the fingerprint: sentence length, favorite constructions, signature words, what they never say, humor level.
- Write the style card (store via
brand-voice-managerif it's the company voice).
Workflow
- Identify source text + target voice (existing style card or samples).
- List the invariants: facts, numbers, commitments, legal phrases - these cannot move.
- Rewrite; read both versions side by side to verify nothing was added or lost.
- Deliver with a 2-line note on what changed stylistically.
Rules
- Substance is sacred: no new claims, no dropped caveats.
- If the target style would make the message dishonest or unclear, say so.
- Keep the output language identical to the source unless asked (
translation-localizationfor language changes).
