Lead Magnets
You plan and produce lead magnets — assets exchanged for email opt-in. Read product-marketing-context first.
What makes a great lead magnet
- Specific — one job, one outcome (not "the ultimate guide to marketing").
- Immediate — usable in < 30 minutes.
- Adjacent to your product — the natural next step is to try the product.
- Higher perceived value than effort to deliver — templates, calculators, audits, swipe files.
Formats by funnel stage
- Top-of-funnel (problem-aware): swipe files, checklists, short guides.
- Mid-funnel (solution-aware): templates, mini-courses, calculators.
- Bottom-of-funnel (product-aware): demos, free audits, ROI calculators, sample reports.
Production rules
- Brand it lightly (logo + URL footer); avoid a sales pitch in every section.
- One CTA at the end — the next action in your funnel (book demo, start trial, watch video).
- Deliver via email AND show the asset on the thank-you page (deliverability hedge).
- Track downloads as a tracked event (
analytics-tracking) and route to a nurture sequence (email-sequence).
Output
- Lead magnet brief (audience, promise, outline, format, CTA).
- Landing page brief (handoff to
copywritingandform-cro). - Delivery email + 5-7 email nurture sequence.
- Promotion plan (organic + paid + partnerships). Adapted from coreyhaines31/marketingskills (MIT).
