MTG Argentina Stores — Stock & Price Search
Searches the known list of Buenos Aires / Argentina MTG retailers to find availability and prices for a specific sealed product, then ranks by best Argentine deal.
When to use
- User asks "where can I find X in Argentina?"
- User wants the cheapest Argentine source for a sealed product
- User wants to compare prices across multiple Argentine stores
- User is hunting a specific Collector/Play Display or Bundle
What to ask first
- Exact product name and edition (e.g., "EOE Collector Booster Box", "SOS Codex Bundle", "MH3 Play Booster Box")
- Acceptable price ceiling (so you can pre-filter results)
- Current ARS/USD exchange rate (Argentine peso moves fast — never assume from memory)
- Whether the user needs it NOW or can wait for restock (some stores like Rancho TCG have anomalously low prices but are often out)

Process
Step 1 — confirm what the user wants
Get exact product name, edition, ideal price ceiling, and current ARS/USD exchange rate.
Step 2 — fetch from each store in parallel
Hit the 4 priority sealed URLs in parallel first (these return live prices reliably):
https://ranchostoretcg.com.ar/categoria-producto/magic/https://albattletcg.com/magic/booster-box1/https://www.magicdealersstore.com/catalog/magic_the_gathering_productos_sellados/15111https://www.labatikuevastore.com/categoria-producto/tcg/magic/(or specific product URL if known)
These category pages list multiple products with prices in a single fetch — much faster than per-product searches.
For Phoenix Reborn (often 403):
Try https://phoenixreborn.com.ar/inicio/mtg/ but expect failure. If it 403s, ask the user to check in browser and paste prices back.
For Mercado Libre listings:
Use search URL pattern: https://listado.mercadolibre.com.ar/<product-keywords>. ML often blocks WebFetch — use WebSearch with mercadolibre.com.ar domain filter as fallback.
WebFetch prompts should be specific to extract structured data:
"List each Magic sealed product on this page with: product name, exact ARS price, stock status (in stock / sin stock / out of stock), and any cash/bank-transfer discount % shown. Include all products visible."
Watch out for: Argentine peso prices use periods as thousand-separators (e.g., $300.000 ARS = three hundred thousand pesos, NOT three hundred dollars). Always interpret carefully.
Step 3 — convert ARS → USD
Use the user-provided exchange rate. Do not assume a rate from memory — Argentine peso moves weekly.
Apply discounts:
- 5-10% cash discount typical
- 14-16% bank transfer discount typical
- Promo % off appears on individual product pages
Step 4 — verify US reference price
Run mtg-sealed-price-check skill to get current US market price for the product, then calculate Argentine markup.
Step 5 — produce ranked report
# [PRODUCT] — Argentina Store Search Results (YYYY-MM-DD)
## IN STOCK
| Store | ARS Price | USD (after discount) | Markup vs US | Stock |
|-------|-----------|----------------------|--------------|-------|
| ... |
## OUT OF STOCK (best historical prices)
| Store | USD (cash) | Notes |
|-------|-----------|-------|
## Best deal: [Store name] at $[X]
## My recommendation: [...]
Step 6 — factor in time/shipping cost
If a cheaper store requires significant travel, factor in your own time cost (hourly rate × travel time). Sticker savings need to exceed this hidden cost to be worth the trip.
Always mention shipping options (most Argentine stores ship within CABA for ~$10-25 USD equivalent).
Common pitfalls
- Don't trust outdated prices from previous searches. Re-fetch each time; markets shift weekly.
- Verify "in stock" status — many Argentine stores list products that are perpetually "sin stock"
- Mercado Libre listings vary wildly — check seller's feedback (reputación) before buying
- Per-pack vs per-box confusion — a "$66,000 ARS Collector Booster" might be ONE pack, not 12. Always verify quantity.
- Some "Bundles" are scams in disguise — Scene Boxes have been priced at 5x MSRP. Cross-check with US market.
- Never assume exchange rate — Argentine peso has moved 30%+ in single months. Always ask user for current rate.
When the user asks about Secret Lair products
Secret Lair is direct-only from Wizards at MSRP, then secondary market.
- Argentine retailers rarely carry Secret Lair sealed
- Secondary market on TCGPlayer/eBay typically 2-4x MSRP for desirable sets
- Initial hype premium (4-6x MSRP) settles 4-6 weeks after release
- Don't pay scalper prices — wait for stabilization, or buy singles from the deck
What NOT to do
- Don't quote US prices from memory — always verify via mtg-sealed-price-check skill first
- Don't ignore stock status — listing a "great price" at a perpetually-out store wastes user's time
- Don't push purchase if all Argentine sources are >50% markup — sometimes "wait" is the right answer
- Don't recommend cross-border shipping bypass schemes — Argentine import tariffs are real
