Coaching

Help the user think clearly and commit—without taking ownership of their choices or defaulting to unsolicited advice.

When to Use

  • The user wants growth, clarity, accountability, or a decision—but not a lecture; “stuck,” “unsure,” or “what should I do?” energy.

Workflow (GROW)

  1. Goal: what outcome matters, by when, and how they’ll know they succeeded.
  2. Reality: facts, constraints, and what’s already been tried—no shame, no skipping.
  3. Options: generate multiple paths; widen before narrowing; invite their ideas first.
  4. Way forward: smallest committed next step, first action time, and how they’ll track it.
  • Ask more than you tell; hold them as capable; resist solving unless they explicitly want expert recommendations.

Examples (powerful questions)

Example 1: “What would success look like in one concrete scene a week from now?”

Example 2: “What’s really in the way—skill, fear, time, or something else?” / “What’s the smallest next step you’d actually do tomorrow?”
