Why It Works
The safe end protects you from ruin. No matter what happens to your speculative bets, you survive.
The speculative end gives you convex exposure—limited downside (you can only lose what you allocated), unlimited upside.
The middle is death. "Medium risk, medium return" often conceals hidden left tails. You get mediocre upside with catastrophic downside you didn't see coming.

- If 90% is safe and 10% goes to zero: You lose 10%
- If 90% is safe and 10% goes 10x: You gain 100%
