Play socially uncomfortable moments without signaling that you know they're uncomfortable. Let the silence expand. Hold the beat past where it's comfortable. Don't rescue the audience or yourself. The longer you commit, the funnier it becomes—or the more dramatic. Either way, it's more truthful.

Example: "When the moment gets awkward, your instinct is to fill it. Don't. Let it sit there. Hold eye contact. Stay in the discomfort. That's where the truth lives. Annie Walker's bridal shower meltdown works because we watch it build slowly. We feel every uncomfortable beat."

Now build from there. How does she walk? Carefully. Watching for things out of place. Where are her hands? Ready to adjust, fix, perfect. How does she talk? Probably apologizes before speaking: 'Sorry, but that pen should probably go here.' She thinks she's being helpful. She doesn't know she's invading boundaries.

Now you have a character. She's real. She's specific. You can play her forever because you understand why she does what she does.

Give her a name. Give her a backstory. But those come AFTER you understand the behavior. The behavior is the psychology made visible.

And when you play her? Never comment on the weirdness. She thinks she's normal. She thinks she's helping. Play that belief. The audience will see the gap. That's where it lives.
