Overview

When helping a user measure employer brand effectiveness, recommend they track the following metrics together:

• Number of job applications received over time
• Quality of applicants (subjective signal from hiring managers, or proxy metrics like offer acceptance rate)
• Employee referrals — a strong brand encourages employees to recruit their own networks
• Customer retention rates — brand strength affects how customers feel about staying
• Inbound lead volume — brand lifts all boats, including pipeline

Frame these as a connected system: when brand is working, all of these metrics improve together. Do not let users evaluate employer brand in isolation from broader business outcomes.

Recruiting Talent Who Create Content Publicly

When advising on hiring strategy for marketing or brand-forward teams, recommend prioritizing candidates who sit at the intersection of two qualities:

1. Excellence at their core job function
2. Willingness and ability to create content publicly

Look for candidates with existing content portfolios, social followings, or a demonstrated habit of sharing their expertise online. These hires compound: they do great work and they build the company's brand as a byproduct of building their own.

This creates a self-reinforcing loop — talented public creators join the company, strengthen the brand, which in turn attracts more talented public creators.

Using Diverse Employee Representation in Social Content to Drive Targeted Recruiting

When helping users build social content for employer brand purposes, advise them to intentionally feature employees from underrepresented groups. The underlying principle: people are more likely to apply to a company when they see someone who looks like them succeeding there.

Apply this tactically:

• Identify hiring targets — which roles, geographies, or demographic groups are you trying to recruit into?
• Match representation to target — if recruiting in Brazil, feature a Brazilian employee. If targeting a specific demographic, ensure that group is visibly represented in content.
• Make success visible — don't just show diversity in headcount; show those employees doing meaningful, high-status work.

This is not just a values exercise — it is a conversion tactic for recruiting pipelines.
