Budget One Full Year With No Revenue Expectations

Treat the first year in a new market as a sunk-cost investment. Do not include projected revenue from the new market in annual forecasts during this period.

• Allocate budget for the two-person hire (marketer + salesperson) and allow them to operate independently.
• Use the first year to validate whether the product and messaging resonate locally before scaling.
• Give the team space to find both product-market fit and go-to-market fit specific to that region.

Identify Dominant Local Channels Before You Enter

Before committing to a new market, research which platforms and channels your target audience actually uses in that region. Do not assume your home-market channel mix will transfer.

• Example: LinkedIn is the dominant professional network in the US, but Xing is the equivalent in Germany.
• Identify local automation tools and outreach strategies specific to those platforms.
• Allocate marketing effort to where your audience congregates locally, not where they congregate in your current market.

Test Voice Cloning vs. Dubbing by Language Pair

When localizing video content, do not default to a single approach across all target languages. Test both voice cloning and dubbing to determine which sounds more natural for each specific language combination, and document results in a localization playbook.

His recommendation does not qualify which language pairs this approach works for or flag cases where it may sound unnatural.
