• A "new anomaly / new factor" paper that does not clear the multiple-testing and robustness bar.
• A corporate-finance regression with endogeneity and no credible source of variation.
• Sloppy measurement or inference in a journal that explicitly values quantitative care.
• A paper that is really accounting or economics framed as finance, or a thin contribution better suited to a broad-volume outlet.
