Light: Science & Applications is the open-access photonics journal published within Nature Portfolio in partnership with the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP). It selects for high-impact photonics with broad significance, framed in the Nature style: the paper must make a substantial conceptual or capability advance whose importance is legible to a wide optics-and-beyond readership, not only to a photonics sub-community. Structure & house style
- Nature-Portfolio article structure with a significance-forward abstract and introduction; re-check the current article types and length/format on the live guide.
- The introduction must establish the broad-significance gap and the conceptual stakes before the technical development, in accessible language.
- Main display items are load-bearing and curated: quantitative figures with controls, benchmarks, and clear schematics of the proposed mechanism.
- Methods and extended/supplementary material carry full fabrication, setup, and additional characterization; the main narrative must stand on the headline figures.
- As a fully open-access journal, plan for an article-processing charge and any waiver/funding considerations — re-check current OA terms on the live page.
