FastMCP is a TypeScript framework for building Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. This skill provides patterns for tools, resources, prompts, authentication, and transport configuration.

Best Practices

1. Use descriptive tool names: Choose names that clearly indicate what the tool does
2. Provide descriptions: Always include descriptions for tools, resources, and prompts

4. Handle errors gracefully: Use UserError for user-facing errors
5. Report progress: For long-running operations, use reportProgress
6. Use streaming: For text generation, use streamContent with streamingHint: true
