Mission Control - Launch Agent Teams
Spawn and coordinate multiple AI agents working in parallel. Based on the Mission Control architecture.
Usage
Invoke with /mission-control to:
- Launch a Team - Spawn predefined agent teams in parallel
- Custom Squad - Define and launch custom agents
- Status Check - View all active tasks and agent progress
- Assign Task - Create a task and delegate to specific agents
Core Concepts
Agents are parallel subagents - Each agent runs as a separate Claude instance via the Task tool with its own context window and personality.
Tasks are the shared brain - All agents coordinate through TaskCreate/TaskUpdate. This is the "Mission Control database" where work is tracked.
SOULs define personality - Each agent has a distinct role, voice, and expertise. Constraints focus them.

Execution Pattern
When launching a team, follow this exact pattern:
Step 1: Acknowledge and Plan
Confirm the objective and which team/agents will work on it.
Step 2: Create Master Task
Use TaskCreate for the overall objective:
- subject: The mission objective
- description: Full context, expected deliverable, team composition
- activeForm: "Coordinating [team] on [objective]"
Step 3: Launch Agents in Parallel
Use the Task tool to spawn ALL agents in a SINGLE response. Each agent gets:
- Their SOUL (personality and expertise)
- The mission context
- Their specific assignment
- Instructions to report findings
CRITICAL: Launch all agents in ONE message with multiple Task tool calls. Do NOT launch them sequentially.
Step 4: Synthesize Results
When agents return, combine their outputs into a cohesive deliverable:
- Merge research with writing with review
- Resolve any conflicts between agent findings
- Present unified recommendation
Step 5: Update Tasks
Mark tasks complete and summarize what was accomplished.
Custom Squad
To define custom agents, ask the user for:
- Agent name
- Role (one sentence)
- Personality traits (2-3 adjectives)
- What they're good at (3-5 bullets)
- How they should work (3-5 rules)
Then construct a SOUL and launch.
Example Launch
User: "Launch the content team to write a blog post about AI agents"
Response:
Mission Control: Content Team Activated
Objective: Write a blog post about AI agents
Team:
- Researcher: Gather facts, examples, sources
- Writer: Draft the post
- Editor: Polish and finalize
Launching 3 agents in parallel...
[Task tool calls for Researcher, Writer, Editor - all in one message]
Status Commands
"Status" - Use TaskList to show all active tasks and their progress
"What's blocking?" - Identify any stuck or blocked tasks
"Wrap up" - Synthesize all agent outputs and mark tasks complete
Best Practices
Start smaller - 2-3 agents is often enough. Don't over-orchestrate.
Clear objectives - Each agent needs to know exactly what success looks like.
Let agents surprise you - Sometimes they'll find angles you didn't consider. That's good.
Stagger if needed - For dependent work (research → writing), launch in phases.
Trust the process - Agents will ask clarifying questions. Answer them.
Response Format
When invoked, show:

- Launch Team - GTM, Content, Dev, or Product team
- Custom Squad - Define your own agents
- Status - Check current tasks and progress
