Comprehensive hardening applied to make the interface production-ready with proper error handling, input validation, text overflow protection, and accessibility improvements.

Changes Applied

1. Error Handling & Resilience

Network Retry Logic

• fetchWithRetry() utility with 3 automatic retries
• 10-second timeout for API calls
• 15-second timeout for audio transcription
• Exponential backoff between retries
• AbortController for proper timeout cancellation

Error Display

• showError() utility for consistent error messaging
• Non-blocking error banners at top of active screen
• Retry buttons for recoverable errors
• Clear, actionable error messages
• Automatic error cleanup on successful operations

HTTP Status Handling

• 400: Validation errors
• 401-403: Permission errors
• 404: Not found
• 500+: Server errors
• Timeout: Network errors

2. Input Validation

Text Input Constraints

• Maximum length: 1000 characters
• Minimum length: 1 character
• sanitizeText() utility: trims and truncates all user input
• Real-time character counter (shows warning at 950 chars)
• Empty input validation with clear feedback

Button State Management

• Disable submit buttons during API calls
• Prevent double-submission
• Re-enable on completion or error
• Loading indicators during processing

3. Text Overflow Protection

Permission Handling

Transcription Safety

• 15-second timeout

6. Loading States

• Shows during API calls
