Pipeline Health Framework

Key Metrics

Deal Health Indicators

Execution Flow

Step 1: Retrieve Pipeline Data

crm.get_pipeline({
  ownerId: context.ownerId,
  minAmount: context.minDealSize,
  closingWithinDays: 90
})

Step 2: Calculate Deal Velocity

crm.get_deal_velocity({
  period: "90d",
  ownerId: context.ownerId
})

Step 3: Analyze Each Deal

For each deal in pipeline:

crm.get_activities({
  dealId: deal.id,
  limit: 20
})

Calculate deal health score:

function calculateDealHealth(deal, activities) {
  let score = 100;

  // Activity Recency (25%)
  const daysSinceActivity = getDaysSince(activities[0]?.createdAt);
  if (daysSinceActivity > 14) score -= 25;
  else if (daysSinceActivity > 7) score -= 12;

  // Stage Duration (25%)
  const daysInStage = getDaysSince(deal.stageUpdatedAt);
  const expectedDuration = stageExpectations[deal.stage];
  if (daysInStage > expectedDuration * 1.5) score -= 25;
  else if (daysInStage > expectedDuration) score -= 12;

  // Engagement Level (20%)
  const activityCount = activities.length;
  if (activityCount < 3) score -= 20;
  else if (activityCount < 5) score -= 10;

  // Multi-threading (15%)
  const uniqueContacts = new Set(activities.map(a => a.contactId)).size;
  if (uniqueContacts < 2) score -= 15;
  else if (uniqueContacts < 3) score -= 7;

  // Next Steps (15%)
  const hasNextStep = deal.metadata?.nextStep;
  if (!hasNextStep) score -= 15;

  return score;
}

Step 4: Categorize Deals

const dealCategories = {
  healthy: deals.filter(d => d.healthScore >= 70),
  atRisk: deals.filter(d => d.healthScore >= 40 && d.healthScore < 70),
  critical: deals.filter(d => d.healthScore < 40)
};

Step 5: Generate Interventions

For at-risk and critical deals:

function generateIntervention(deal) {
  const issues = [];

  if (deal.daysSinceActivity > 14) {
    issues.push({
      type: "stale",
      action: "Schedule immediate follow-up",
      urgency: "high"
    });
  }

  if (deal.stakeholders < 2) {
    issues.push({
      type: "single_threaded",
      action: "Identify and engage additional stakeholders",
      urgency: "medium"
    });
  }

  if (!deal.nextStep) {
    issues.push({
      type: "no_next_step",
      action: "Define clear next action with date",
      urgency: "high"
    });
  }

  return issues;
}

Step 6: Alert on Critical Deals

messaging.send_alert({
  channel: "sales-alerts",
  title: "🚨 Critical Deal Alert: ${deal.name}",
  body: "Deal health dropped to ${deal.healthScore}%. Issues: ${issues.join(', ')}",
  priority: "urgent"
})

Step 7: Generate Report

## Pipeline Health Report

**Period**: ${period}
**Scope**: ${ownerId ? `Rep: ${ownerName}` : 'All Reps'}

Stage Duration Expectations

Intervention Playbooks

Stale Deal (No activity > 14 days)

1. Email rep with deal details
2. Suggest re-engagement email template
3. Escalate to manager if no action in 48h

Single-Threaded Deal

1. Research additional stakeholders
2. Suggest multi-threading strategy
3. Provide stakeholder mapping template

Stuck in Stage

1. Review last conversation for blockers
2. Suggest deal-accelerating tactics

Guardrails

• Alert only on deals > $10K
• Limit to 10 critical alerts per day per manager
• Require human confirmation before deal auto-updates
