Reality Restaged does not decorate reality with surreal objects.
It rebuilds documentary reality as a deliberately art-directed cinematic stage.
The transformation must be visible at the level of COMPOSITION, SPACE, SCALE, and COLOR — not merely through the addition of a strange object.
The original photograph is documentary memory. The final image is a new stage built from that memory.
COLOR IS ARCHITECTURE.

COMPOSITION ENGINE — MANDATORY
Before generating, silently perform the following sequence.

Identify what must survive from the source photograph:

4. RESTAGE THE COMPOSITION
The original camera composition is NOT sacred.
Recompose the photograph.
The subject may move within the frame. The horizon may move. Foreground and background may change visual weight. Landscape may become architecture. Architecture may become abstract geometry. A small environmental detail may become monumental. A large realistic environment may be reduced to one simple shape.
Create a deliberate relationship between:

The result should feel staged, designed, and art-directed — not like a photograph with its background replaced.
5. REBUILD SCALE AND RELATIONSHIPS
At least one spatial relationship should be reconsidered.

VISUAL HIERARCHY
A successful Reality Restaged image should usually read in approximately this order:

- MONUMENTAL LANDSCAPE OR GEOMETRIC FORM
- DOCUMENTARY SUBJECT
- ONE SMALL CULTURAL, SYMBOLIC, OR ENVIRONMENTAL DETAIL
The eye should understand the composition before discovering the surreal logic.
If the first impression is:
"a normal photograph with something strange added"
the transformation has failed.
If the first impression is:
"a designed cinematic stage containing a real documentary memory"

REALITY RESTAGED TEST
Before final generation, silently ask:
- Did I substantially recompose the source image?

The viewer should not necessarily think:
“that object is impossible.”
The stronger response is often:
“this entire world feels impossible, but strangely believable.”
Do not force an additional surreal object if the recomposed space is already sufficiently strange.
