File contents topic-analyzer
When to activate
Before researching, planning, or scripting any video. Topic analysis gates content investment — GO/CAUTION/NO-GO decision precedes all downstream work.
When NOT to use
On existing, proven pillar topics (apply trend-scout instead to track momentum).
For niche topics in saturated verticals (use competitor-analyzer first to map landscape).
When creator has already committed to topic — this validates decision, not overrides it.
Instructions
Gather input: Topic name, creator niche, target audience.
Run Exa search: 90-day trend data, monthly search volume, growth trajectory.
Score against Content Pillar Matrix:
Topic Trend: Trending up (+50%/mo) = 25 pts; stable = 15 pts; declining = 5 pts
Audience Demand: 100K+ searches = 25 pts; 10K–100K = 15 pts; <10K = 5 pts
Competitive Gap: <10 competitors = 25 pts; 10–50 = 15 pts; >50 = 5 pts
Creator Expertise: Expert authority = 25 pts; knowledgeable = 15 pts; learning = 5 pts
Decision rule:
GO (≥60): Proceed to research and planning.
CAUTION (40–59): Validate demand; note expertise gaps; flag for conditional approval.
NO-GO (<40): Skip. Log reason. Revisit in 30 days if trend reverses.
Output: Structured analysis with dimensional breakdown, competitor count, search volume trend, and creator recommendation.
Example
Input: "AI video editing automation for content creators"
Analysis:
Trend: +65% growth/month (25 pts) — Emerging topic with sustained momentum
Demand: 45K monthly searches (15 pts) — Solid audience but not mainstream
Competition: 8 major competitors (25 pts) — Uncrowded space relative to demand
Expertise: Advanced creator with 3-year automation experience (25 pts) — Clear authority
Score: 90 — GO
Recommendation: Strong topic. Favorable trend, minimal competition, creator expertise. Proceed to research and script.
Output: Viability score 0–100, decision (GO/CAUTION/NO-GO), dimensional breakdown, next action.
