name: agentic-coding-trends-2026-brief description: A structured brief for engineering leaders to assess 2026 agentic coding trends and set priorities for adopting Claude Code responsibly.
Instructions
Use this skill to turn a qualitative AI (or agentic coding) initiative into an actionable plan with clear scope, enablement, and measurement.
Define the business problem (not the technology).
- Identify a bottleneck with a clear owner and baseline (time, cost, quality, risk).
- State the desired outcome and what will be considered “better.”
Design adoption as a people program.
- Specify the target roles and primary workflows.
- Plan training, internal champions, and lightweight governance.
Measure what matters.
- Track a small set of metrics: throughput/time saved, quality, risk/security outcomes, and adoption.
- Prefer before/after comparisons on representative work, not only anecdotal demos.
Build for scale from day one.
- Treat integration, security, compliance, and trust as requirements, not follow-ups.
- Plan a path from pilot to broader rollout.
Iterate based on evidence.
- Use results to refine prompts, workflows, controls, and training.
Examples
Example: Draft an adoption plan
Input
- Organization: (brief context)
- Workflow to improve: (who does what, today)
- Constraints: (security, compliance, integration)
- Success metrics: (what you will measure)
Output
- Problem statement + baseline
- Proposed Claude-enabled workflow
- Enablement plan (training/champions)
- Measurement plan (metrics + how to collect)
- Scale plan (security/compliance/integration)
- Risks and mitigations
