Design a multi-email sequence that moves a reader from entry to one outcome, then draft the emails. For a single email, use draft-content instead.
Step graph
Step 1: Define the job of the sequence
- Type & goal — welcome/onboarding (activate), nurture (educate → MQL), drip (stay top-of-mind), abandoned-cart (recover), re-engagement (revive dormant), post-purchase (retain/expand).
- Trigger (what enrolls someone), entry/exit criteria (e.g. exit on conversion), and the single conversion action the whole sequence drives toward.
Step 2: Map the arc
Choose the number of emails and cadence (e.g. onboarding 3–5 over a week; nurture 5–7 over 2–4 weeks). For each email, define one job and the reader's expected state. Don't ask every email to do everything — one idea, one CTA each.
Step 3: Draft each email
For every step output: send timing/trigger, subject + preview text (2 subject options), body (skimmable, one core idea), and one CTA. Escalate from value → proof → offer across the arc. Add branching where it matters (clicked vs. didn't; converted → exit).
Step 4: Instrument it
Name the metric per stage (open, click, reply, conversion) and the overall sequence goal. If there's a pipeline/revenue target behind it, size the funnel with funnel_math. Flag deliverability basics (sender reputation, one clear CTA, easy unsubscribe).
Step 5: Deliver
Present as a table (step | timing | subject | goal | CTA) followed by the full copy for each email. Offer a brand pass via brand-voice.
Respect the inbox: earn each next open. Front-load value, make the unsubscribe honest, and never pad the sequence to hit a number.
